Posts from The tenth stage of the "Van Kanigem" tournament.
Day nine. Deleb breaks through the garrison (F23, a very interesting battle: only 4 hydras remain alive) and heads to the Rangers' Castle.
Did I at least make it to the movie? I want to watch this battle.

Since we were discussing winning tactics, I'll share my Walkthrough. And after the preliminary results, we might ask for more from others.
:) So, we'll ask you for a movie too. We need to gain some experience somehow :)Fireball;134603
In the lands of the elf Nur, grabbing some money from the chest along the way, he heads straight to the Castle. On the night of Sunday to Monday, he defends against Gilraen and, having saved 42 gremlins...
Please, post the first episode :)Fireball;134603
In the morning, he crushes Hafiz's troops. In a long and fierce battle, only an imp and a handful of demons survive.
I think this battle will make a good second episode :)Fireball;134603
The main thing in the battle with Erin is to have full mana, therefore, Ora, grabbing mercury, heads to the well, and then for the crystals. Erin attacks at night. The sign of the magician, 30 mana, and a little luck - victory, although only 4 gargoyles survived.
Well, this battle would be a good addition. I think it will be interesting for me and others to watch the aforementioned battles. We'll learn how to fight with small forces with your help ;) Otherwise, me and Luchik have been stuck trying to continue our duel on the fifth map :)
It would be great if you could learn to fight with small forces with your help. Otherwise, me and Luchik are stuck trying to continue our duel in the fifth game.
I highly recommend trying to play through it again yourself, even using existing walkthroughs, as this map is very revealing in many aspects of the fifth game. I'm uploading 3 episodes + the finale, but the most interesting battle I uploaded earlier.

In principle, the ideas are clear from the descriptions. Fireball;136136

Well, I don't know. I think the ones I requested are more interesting :) if you mean the battle with the elementals. I already removed this battle from the ones I was interested in during the discussions on the first day of the tournament, after I learned from you about the upgraded gargoyles.
I already crossed that match off my list of interesting ones during the discussions on the first day after the tournament ended, after I learned from you about the upgraded gargoyles.
And that was a big mistake. Every gargoyle mattered, and besides, the computers weren't performing too badly. Of course, with the upgraded gargoyles, the question of whether they could break through the elemental defenses didn't even arise, but it was necessary to minimize losses to make things easier later on.

:) Regarding minimizing losses, I can compete with you even on the fifth difficulty level. Want me to send you a battle from that game – when you need to defeat the Nature Fortress – there are hordes fighting hordes. I fought it for three days, and I was annoyed by the losses, even though I suspected that the final result wouldn't be quite right. I'm just curious how many more troops you would have saved. By the way, we could create a topic with tasks on how to complete a battle optimally. And there, not only leaders but also outsiders could post their battles. Because, in my opinion, it's possible that a leader might never see the battles that an outsider fought. And, in my opinion, those battles can be of a completely different nature than the battles in the first two weeks of the game

If you struggled with it for 3 days, then there's probably not much you can add, but that's too time-consuming. I managed to complete a walkthrough with scouting in the evening. Then there was a little more time, and I added 2 parameters. I was really sure that everything would depend on them and on mercury, which I didn't have time to deal with.
By the way, we could create a topic with tasks on how to complete a battle optimally. And there, not only leaders but also outsiders could post their battles.
It's even necessary to create one, and you could post your task there for everyone. The only question is how to stay within the maximum size of attached files? We can temporarily upload them to file-sharing services, but that's only a temporary solution.

Yeah, imagine how, due to my inexperience, I destroyed the entire center of the map on the 4th stage with several Nightmares and Blightlords? The mice cried, pricked themselves, but continued to eat the cactus.
We should definitely do that, and you could upload your challenge for everyone there. The only question is, how do we adhere to the maximum size limit for attached files? We can temporarily upload them to file-sharing services, but that's just a temporary solution.
Well, at least this way. We should give it a try.Fireball;136151
Yeah, imagine how, due to my inexperience, I cleared the entire center of the map on stage 4 with a few Nightmares and Archdevils! The mice cried, pricked themselves, but kept eating the cactus.
That's exactly what I'm talking about. So, we could even organize something like tournaments based on save files from battles (both for leaders and underdogs) to see who can complete a battle with the fewest losses.
to IronAxe:
I'm posting the most interesting matches from the latest season.
Besides those I mentioned as significant above, I've also added a match against the Elves for the Alchemist's Laboratory.
Enjoy watching!!!

And how do I properly extract the files so I can watch them? I can't seem to get it to work (the sizes should be closer to 3 MB after extraction, but I'm left with 300-400 KB):o

These are replays of battles... their actual size is 300-400 KB :D

I watched it. It's an interesting video. I noticed glitches in the video player, or maybe it's just mine? Anyway, it doesn't show how many hit points each unit has during the battle. So, after watching, since I still don't fully understand the fifth game, I have questions for both you and Fire. My question for you is about the battle with the garrison: it seems like the tent raised two Hydras per turn, which were then killed. A Hydra has 80 hit points. So, how many hit points did your tent heal? I got the impression that my tent worked worse – what's the secret?
And can the tent revive a killed unit while healing? I already know that Hydras regenerate on their own, but the video suggests that it was the tent that was reviving them.

Fire, I have a few more questions after watching the video. I have no questions about the battles themselves. I understood everything there.

Faiza, after losing one Imp. In the morning, he crushes Hafiz's troops. In a long and fierce battle, only the Imp and a few Demons survive. But that's not important anymore – the mage is left without troops, Ossir is no longer a threat. After picking up 500 experience points on a chest along the way, Daleb easily takes the Castle.
Question: Were there any towers in the enemy's fortress, and if so, how many?
Fireball;134603
Nurah. On the night of Sunday to Monday, he defends against Gilraen and, preserving 42 Gremlins, enters the Green Castle without a fight.
I think 43 Gremlins survived in this battle.
Fireball;134603
Narhiz. He is hired by the Elf on Monday, takes all the Gremlins, Gargoyles, Elves, Unicorns, and a Fairy with him. He kills Dirael. Victory.
But here it's unclear – where did Narhiz get 63 Gremlins and 8 Gargoyles in his army in this battle? After the battle with Gilraen, Nurah had only 43 Gremlins left. From the description, I don't understand where Narhiz got reinforcements before the battle with Dirael. He hired natural troops in the captured fortress, but where did he get the additional 20 Gremlins and 8 Gargoyles?
Question - were there any Towers in the enemy Fortress, and if so, how many?
By day 8, no computer will have time to build even a Stronghold, meaning there are no Towers at all.
In my opinion, 43 Gremlins survived in this battle.
Apparently, I got a little confused and provided not quite the correct record, as I played this battle almost identically several times. In the original Walkthrough, 42 Gremlins survived. It turns out that the one you watched was even slightly better (by 1 Gremlin). But these are all minor details, as the final battle was played without any problems.

Nur ran into the Castle and, leaving the Gremlins, left, and then a mage with his own troops was bought in the tavern (day 8) and went to fight.
So, how many hit points did your tent heal? I got the impression that my tent worked worse - what's the secret?
The tent heals depending on the skill in Battle Machines - 10/20/50/100 HP, except for the hero Kaspar, who has 5 additional healing units per level.
And can the tent revive a killed unit during healing?
Yes, it can, this is its harsh difference from the third game. In the fifth game, Battle Machines are great.
I already know that Hydras regenerate on their own.
Only upgraded Hydras regenerate. In general, in the fifth game, creatures have even more abilities and special properties than in the fourth, not to mention the third, and they are very often decisive. Iron, please read the manual, and recommend it to Luchik as well. Then I am sure that your duel will be even more interesting and you will compete for the top places. Because a lot more has changed from the fourth game to the fifth than it might seem at first glance.

I now understand all the questions that were asked to you. Well, it seems to work with the tent if it heals for 100. Fireball;136513

I will read it if I have the opportunity :) But one of the learning tactics is to play without knowing anything :) And I did the same in the 4th game. As I already said, in this case, you play the map for longer, and there are such battles with such troops that when you learn to play, you may never reach such battles again :) And I want to see all the monsters in a cool battle in practice.
I also upgraded my units, by the way! Daleb's ballista fired twice, but I guess I didn't choose the right skills, because I didn't get the ballista upgrade at level 3(((( Later, I also got a tent! It's a great item; it resurrected my troops! I could play without any losses!
