- Gods, what a dump! - Beata complains, putting down the notebook in which she was writing an essay. - The boss, someone unpleasant is coming to visit us again!
She goes to kick Erathia. Guyon groans and follows her, continuing to frantically write the essay at least in his mind.

- Ugh, - groaned Kilika, lying in her bed, - a coronation at six in the morning... And I still need to get ready and get there...

"It would be easier to just go to sleep," thought Beata sadly, "I hope there's enough coffee at headquarters for all of us."

Someone is knocking on the door of Carneol in the middle of the night.

It turns out that Lovra has already arrived.

"I wonder why I stayed here for so long," Alaria thought to herself, occasionally glancing at the pensive Klin, "Well, never mind, at least I manage to get some rest between writing songs and this accursed essay. Luckily, it's not the first such night in my experience, and I'm already used to getting up early. Although, I usually imagine sleepless nights a little differently..."

Fyr was still sitting in the living room, diligently working on her creation; she didn't have to go far. Sleep? Why? She could do that another day.

-- Question one... Are these the outside doors, or did someone climb over again? -- she said quietly. -- And question two...

-- Who's there?

A familiar figure appeared from beyond the outer doors, a figure known to some members of Carneol.

- In the name of the Emperor, good evening. - He shows his identification. - Major of the Guard, Margela, Sarana Waltz.

And so, Carneol died.

- I didn't do anything, it just happened, - Beata said quickly. Guyon sighed heavily, rolling his eyes.

"Of course, this is Sarana herself, and not a bloodthirsty vampire who cast an illusion on herself to be let into the dwelling and stage a massacre. But never mind, we have our own, kind vampire here."

-- Just a moment, -- said the redhead, and, without hurrying, with a languid gait, opened the door for the guest exactly after that interval.

"Wasn't she on patrol during the day? Or is she a workaholic even more than ours?"
— Good night, — Alaria nodded to the unexpected guard.

- Tell me, are you familiar with a person named Zostmer de Gnil?

Looks at the others.

- Are you familiar with it or not?

- He was one of the volunteers who helped me prepare for tomorrow's... uh, today's circus performance. He helped build the stage and had a number prepared for the show. Until today... or rather, yesterday, I hadn't seen him.
- Me neither.
- What did he do? - Beata sighed gloomily.

A small smile.
