"Morning Forest" by Toad Road -5% to the cost of learning everything.
- Toad, who did you decide to portray? - This is... a character that I just came up with. We had a lecture about the country of Aoki the other day, and based on the teacher's story, I got the impression that it's a country of stern Puritans who never smile. So, I wanted to depict a local resident in a more friendly and cheerful way.
Long historical lectures about the wild barbarian neighbors, introductory weapons training, wearing heavy armor instead of colorful dresses, and running around with shields instead of shopping – Nira should have expected something like this, but the reality was still a little more unpleasant than she would have liked. The noisy month of March was rapidly fading into the cheerful colors of the approaching summer, but it was hard to call this month filled with any truly interesting events, about which she had so foolishly talked at the opening ceremony. Unexpectedly finding herself in front of a blank canvas in today's lesson, Nira noted with some regret that this was the first time in the past few weeks that she had the opportunity to do something at least remotely resembling her previous life. She herself was not particularly interested in fine arts, but she often visited various art galleries and exhibitions held in her native Utah. At first, the girl wanted to depict something related to fashionable outfits, jewelry, and the hustle and bustle of the city, but for some reason, her thoughts began to flow in an unusual, highly abstract style.
—“The Blooming of Caoris,” Nira signed the finished drawing. —Changeable like the ever-changing currents of fashion, eclipsing the heavens like a girl eclipsing those around her with her beauty, blooming as often as a girl blossoms in a new outfit, a little awkward but charming in its own way, reaching for the sun like a person striving for success, promising holidays and good times, bringing joy and benefiting nature and people. 😊
- If it's all about friendliness and fun, then I think I'd rather have stern and gloomy girls, - Vale thought, looking at his neighbor's creation. - Very unusual and interesting, Toad. Well done.
— Excellent, Nirianna,” the headmistress praised the student, “it’s clear that this work is imbued with love for the homeland; well done.

— Thank you. I think that if we combine our works and place my character on your dolphin, it will be even better.
“I’m done!” Shera declared while the headmistress admired other works. “I’ll call it ‘Top 1 of the National Academy named after Levisia Starlight’!”

“Oh, what do we have here, a self-portrait? Quite unexpected; it’s rare for a newcomer to dare to depict themselves. Wonderful!”
The curious Barbarian decided to sneak a peek at this lesson as well. Tired of waiting for someone to finally draw something, Refiteya was flipping through an album of various classic paintings, wondering what she herself would draw if she didn't spend all her energy on this month's task. "Probably some kind of battle scene. Snow, blizzard, gunpowder smoke... Refiteyan soldiers, fearlessly fighting the enemy. Against the Dithil, for example. The wind is so strong that it chills even the warmest heart of a soldier, but that only works in our favor; they're used to it. Victory is just around the corner." The girl imagined something like this in her mind:
"But, of course, it would be difficult to draw all these people, horses... And it's not very interesting... Maybe if there was more snow in the picture, it would be easier?" Flipping through the album further, Varya glanced and was simply amazed. "Wow! Here it is, my painting! The Imperial army is fighting the Dithil during a strong blizzard! Let's see, what's it called?"
"White Square... Strange, but okay. So, it's still a different painting..." Author
— Oh, what do we have here, a self-portrait? Very unexpected, few newcomers dare to depict themselves. Great!
It was indeed unexpected, but even stranger was seeing a price tag hanging at the bottom of the painting. — Are you selling it?
Varya looked at the painting from this angle and that... It wasn't particularly interesting or beautiful, but there was a certain nuance. The person depicted on it, and the striking title, evoked an inexplicable feeling of rivalry; she really wanted to show that know-it-all who was boss. Deciding that the painting could become an interesting motivational poster, the refitter replied:
-- Okay, I'll buy it then...
"At least it's better than a bare wall," the girl thought to herself.
– Thank you. And this… it’s better to give it when you’re actually handing it over, – the refitter tapped her chin with a finger. – It’ll probably be more symbolic that way…
