I recently decided to replay Heroes of Might and Magic V, but I encountered a problem: the hero highlight (the one at the bottom) causes terrible lag. Has anyone else encountered this and can share a solution?

Well... I can't say for sure, but the idea is that if you remove the connections for each hero in this line, essentially disabling the function, the game won't use the symbol below it for that specific hero.

In my opinion, to fix this bug, the game's .exe folder needs to contain the DirectX .dll files (d3dx9_25.dll and d3d9.dll, and besides this pair, there are some other files... on the Nival forum, some people had a similar problem a long time ago)!

d3d9.dll - anti-aliasing

I solved the problem as follows:

- Installed the CCleaner program
- Cleaned the registry
- Cleaned up unnecessary software files
- Updated all drivers that the program suggested updating
- Restarted the computer
