— Well, that's good to hear, — a rare but still barely noticeable smile appeared on the baron's face, — I'll give you a few pieces of advice, and the rest will come with time. The rest of the day Veserod spent in the company of Gungnir, listening about the commander's craft. Leadership Allies under the character's command receive various bonuses depending on his leadership. Leadership 5: +3 to accuracy Leadership 6: +3 to evasion Leadership 7: +1 to initiative Leadership 8: +3 to fortitude Leadership 9: +3 to willpower Leadership 10: +1 to movement speed Leadership 11: +5 to might Leadership 12: +5 to stealth Leadership 13: +5 to perception Leadership 14: +5% to critical damage Leadership 15: +2 to initiative
Characters with Synergy (11) Ranged warriors: 3 (Veserod, Anders, and, after learning crossbows, Daniel) Melee warriors: 6 (Gullveig, Kalentia, Rohey, Anselm, Renold, and Eir) Mages: 1 (Shino) Cooks: 1 (Ilva)
Ilva is a special case, as her synergy only works with Renold. In most situations, I think they will affect each other. The only exception would be if Renold doesn't have plans to take the lead. As a result, we have 1 character who is not affected by anyone and who does not affect anyone else. Unless Renold takes the lead and Ilva is not in the battle, in which case the buff will go to him. In total, we are left with 4 ranged and 5 melee units. Eir will most likely take "Assault." Locken can take "Retribution" relatively safely (although "Leadership" is not a bad pick either), as he can move and shoot at the same time. I see a potential combo here if the character choice is not determined by the GM. The three Artherians will most likely take "Prayer," which is best used on another melee warrior. We have three good candidates: Rohey, Gullveig, and Kalentia. The others are too fragile. Gullveig and Kalentia can form a duo where they pray for each other, while Anselm will pray for Rohey. In this case, Rohey will be left with the choice between "Retribution" on an Artherian or "Motivation" or "Assault" for someone else. Shino's spells require a lot of initiative, so I wouldn't advise her to take "Assault" or "Retribution." But I think Nebok was already planning to teach her "Motivation." And it is unknown who will choose her as the target for their own Synergy effect. It is possible that the character described above, who is out of the picture/buffs Renold, will be her. There are a couple of crossbowmen left who cannot kite and have the same firing range. Perhaps it makes sense for them to each take "Assault," as it should be easy to stay close, and there are no other free "slots." Unless Rohey chooses an Artherian as the target for "Retribution." Of course, everything written above is by no means an instruction on what to do, what to take, and who to buff, but rather just reflections on a working concept with maximum Synergy, which may not even be that accurate. There is no argument that we will always fight with the entire "united" team. In other words, I wanted to see how it might look in practice, and my verdict is that the system is more complex than it might seem and becomes a little easier if the characters are divided into pairs.
The week following the unexpected contests passed almost unnoticed. Life went on as usual, but the city looked better than usual thanks to the efforts of Imelda, Ilva, Alessia, Shino, and Anselm. Strange dreams, meanwhile, still did not let go and continued to visit the residents of Balthras. Alessia sat on the throne in the Amethyst Palace surrounded by a large number of bustling servants. Ryohei enjoyed a peaceful rest under a blossoming cherry tree. Eir was gaining the upper hand over Gungnir in a difficult duel. Imelda was drowning in Anselm's embrace. Daniel learned to shoot a crossbow. Ilva ran away from Balthras. Renold earned Gungnir's recognition. Anselm became the winner of the Balthras tournament. Anders started seeing Gulveig. Kalentia reached the peak of martial skill. Shino found her one true prince on a white horse. Gulveig saved living vegetables and fruits from suicide, but then ate them herself. Veserod returned to his homeland, where all his fellow countrymen were alive and well.

Was Gungnir really a brilliant commander? Or did he just pick a guy with leadership 2 who is simply good at shooting? Or is the old man losing it?
This is a reward for winning the tournament. That's why I was rooting for Revan. Although I agree that the way the leader is determined is strange. Including from the point of view of gameplay, since tournament-winning terminators are usually proud guys with minimal charisma.
And it's unknown who will choose her as the target for their own Unity effect.
Well, for starters, she would unite with Veserod, then with Daniel, then with Matthias, then with Gregor, then with Renold (while his sister isn't looking), then with Anselm, then with Rohey, and finally with Anders.

Shino woke up from her sleep and made a displeased face. The accursed dream disturbed the peace of her mental state. To clear her head and cast aside bad thoughts, she decided to get down to business early in the morning. The girl headed to her mentor to tell her about the problems she encountered during the tournament.

Shino found the elderly woman brewing some kind of potion. She was stirring the liquid in a cauldron, from which steam was rising, and occasionally adding new ingredients to it.
— Hello, dear, — Emilia smiled warmly at her pupil, — the streets of the city are practically shining, well done. After such good work, you must have slept well?
