The girl did not argue with Gregor and followed him.

Passing by the various creatures inhabiting the eastern part of the forest, Gregor and Shino finally reach Professor Slimegate's house. At first glance, it was a very wealthy and well-equipped home standing by the river. 

Near the house, they lock eyes with Victor's wife — Amelia. Due to the location, guests did not visit the Slimegate residence all that often, so the woman was somewhat surprised by their arrival. 
— Oh, I see... — After listening to Gregor, Amelia's face showed guilt. — I'm afraid this isn't the best time. Victor is having a rare period of inspiration, and he asked not to be disturbed in the near future. Well, you probably know how it is with creative people. I understand that you agreed to meet on a specific day, so please accept my apologies.
— Stop, there's no need to apologize for that, I understand everything. Please, convey to your husband that I would be glad to meet him at any other time. 

After bidding the guests farewell, Amelia, like a mermaid, dove back into the river and left Shino and Gregor alone. 
— It seems we'll be fishing together. I hope you don't mind.
