Well, I don't really have many options for my turn.
It's just that the ability description doesn't say a word about the range it works at, etc., considering that some abilities remove BD even at a distance.
The NPC was created right before the start of the tournament with the sole purpose of crushing riders. Fine if he had known skills that would allow him to do that. But no, he has a cheater bow, not just for increased damage, but also for increased accuracy. And yet for some reason we can't dismount on the first turn. Apparently they tie or glue us on tight before the battle. He beat all the riders except Heroist, who only won thanks to the ray. But yes yes, the hate is unjustified, what was I thinking... If I hadn't missed it as usual, maybe I would have dropped out of the tournament.
I'm not defending him, but since I'm also on foot, and a melee fighter at that, I don't particularly empathize with the horses.
I would have fewer questions for him if he had spawned at the very beginning of the gathering, rather than right before the fights. Or if he had the same bow but from a different region. It's unclear why such a weapon is on the islands. As I already wrote, apparently it's against centaurs riding dolphins.
But then if the Dumbledores had horses, he could help us in the first half of the brawl at least.

Agreed. Riders already have more comfortable conditions than characters with other skills.
Lost your horse? By the next round it's already alive and well. You don't even have to wait for the end of the tournament.
Got your weapon broken? Repair happens solely by the grace of the Lizard.
Spent AP? You'll only recover it with an olive.

All the skills I took are purely for RP, stats are for RP, weapons are for RP. I didn't even try to minmax. Well, for once (the first time) it accidentally happened that my character is capable of winning a tournament. But before it starts, an archer appears who can prevent that. If some player had owned me with mounts, skills — zero complaints, only jokes. Now is the reason for the hate clearer?
