Ore dake Haireru Kakushi Dungeon

A quintessential snow monster story with great characters and cool scenes – definitely one of the best in its genre. The world-building is a bit weak, but it doesn't really detract from the narrative.

One Room

Meditative content, just something to relax your eyes, ears, and mind. I liked the second story the most, but the heroine from the first one is just super vanilla. The third story is a bit heavy.

Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san

Very, very good – a treat for the eyes, wrapped in fun humor and engaging storylines.

Renai Boukun

The yandere is great, but I didn't like the rest.

I haven't checked in for a while, but I wanted to bump the thread...

I started watching it about two years ago, but I didn't continue after the first or first few episodes, I don't remember why. I finished it the other day, and in the end, I got pretty much what I expected. It's decent.

An isekai assortment. Time to finally report on it (watched it a while ago).

Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu (Jobless Reincarnation)
Watched some of it; the plot seems fine, but the astonishing focus on perversion (especially when it comes to the MC, but by no means limited to that) doesn't let you enjoy either the story or anything else. In short, dropped.

Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (The Rising of the Shield Hero)



At the start it's really quite good; toward the end it gets boring and formulaic, but it's watchable. Somewhere between 6 and 7 out of 10, overall. It's a bit off-putting that the MC gathered a harem made almost exclusively of lolis, but since there doesn't seem to be any negative subtext here, it'll do. Another downside: the world is too heavily gamified. Even if that gets explained by the plot later, I still disagree with that choice, because it greatly hinders immersion (and honestly, I think if this isekai weren't an isekai but just a fantasy title, it wouldn't lose anything at all, and would gain a lot instead).
Oh, and why I initially decided to watch this in the first place: a little bird told me that Kevin Penkin was responsible for the music in the title. That's where the main interest came from.


Weeeell, this thing is really super good, and it makes the most of its genre's potential. A series about what the life of a simple, sickly poor girl can turn into if someone with a fire in their belly moves into her. There's no action or fights, but there's a top-notch stream of problems, tasks, and solutions, as well as plenty of touching and cute moments. 9/10

Now, onto other news.
A good, brutal cartoon. I can't say I was completely blown away; in my opinion, it's a bit overrated, and the main reason is Thorfinn's stupidity. They made the boy too annoying; it's impossible to watch the entire series without constantly facepalming because of him. Well, hopefully, he'll grow out of it. But Askeladd is done perfectly, an excellent character who carries the whole thing. Because of this, I'll still give it an 8/10.
The theme of historical accuracy, the Norse, all the Danes and Vikings – I'm a fan of that, and I can't help it. Especially since there's also early (relatively speaking) Christianity here. But it's still an anime, so just remember that realistic costumes and weapons in some scenes can instantly turn into something completely unrealistic, like some guy single-handedly sinking an entire fleet.

Another one of my old favorites, I wanted to rewatch it since last year, but I only got around to it now. Nana Mizuki singing is always great, and here, Yuki Aoi also joined in, which was nice. Subconsciously, I associated Tsubasa with Chiaya from Idolmaster, which was interesting in its own way, but overall, the visuals weren't very appealing, and I got bored with what was happening, not least because of the abundance of fights. I might watch the next seasons later.

Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni.

Sword Art Online, but with a better Kirito. The first episode immediately greeted me with a rather amusing scene (a message in the experience thread - it was), but after that, it was 50/50 - half of the content I liked, and the other half not so much. Although, all things considered, if it weren't for the lackluster animation and some of the chaotic events, it would have been very good. I'd also like to highlight the opening that I enjoyed and the character in the picture above - in this title, her talents, unfortunately, were not fully utilized...

Hajimete no Gal

There were some funny moments, but overall, it turned out to be rather dull. The ninth episode, in particular, was like a manual on how to make yourself a victim.

A quality movie with great fight scenes. And, well, that's it. I didn't feel any particularly strong emotions, no incredible revelations, nothing like that. Just epic, good fights. Although, okay, there was one thing, but I won't spoil it.
I was satisfied.
