2) Spoiler: even in the darkest situation, you can find a way out if you're willing to go all the way.
3) Don't join the army, guys.

The Ides of March (2011)

A film about how politics is a dirty business. At first, it might seem a bit slow, but that's because the film sets up the characters and events, and then it starts firing on all cylinders. Even though these "shots" are delivered through dialogue, it looks very dynamic. The film is quite short (an hour and forty minutes), so the setup doesn't get boring, and the unfolding action makes the second half of the film watchable in one sitting. Gosling plays the main role, which is a plus in itself, but the supporting actors are also good. I really liked how the film explored the theme of how everything is nasty in politics and how everyone is fighting each other and treating each other as nothing more than pawns. 

I also found the scene at the end amusing, when a new intern comes to the office, with a clear hint that the whole team will celebrate with her on election day.

And yes, this animated series is still just as great. And at the end, they even created some intrigue before the next season... Naughty people.

Overall, I liked it. The ending was very sad, though. The scene where the lava monster attacks the girl in Europe, and right in a church, was shocking.
