Basically, this topic is being created with one single purpose – to determine if there is demand for Moscow for CIS-2021, or if it doesn't make sense to bother and we should just go to St. Petersburg.

For now, the only option we're considering is:

They want to have 100 guests (the initial preliminary calculation was based on the maximum), but we'll adjust their expectations. 100 people means that everything will be organized strictly for us and no one else. And in general, we don't really care about other guests, as long as we are the priority and have a separate space.

From July 31st to August 7th – preliminarily, it will cost around 25,000 per person: this includes a banquet and three meals a day (initially, a buffet was suggested, but I would reconsider this, as this format always means overpaying for food that remains uneaten).
Accommodation is for two people per room, with single beds. The price also includes access to the swimming pool, gym, and sauna. We don't have clarity on the halls yet (there are several halls, they sent us options today, and I chose three adjacent ones – a large one with 135 square meters, a conference room with 68 square meters, and a meeting room with 26 square meters) – but I believe these halls will be included in the price (the alternative for them is an empty or half-empty hotel).
During the summer, there are outdoor playgrounds for volleyball, basketball, and mini-football.
There are also additional paid options: bowling, fishing, billiards, ping-pong, a paintball field, etc.
Very close by (400 meters), right at the exit of the territory, there are Pятёрочка and Дикси stores (so you don't even have to go anywhere for basic alcohol).

Logistics – for Moscow, I would say it's ideal, as you can get there by minibus from the metro.

From Vnukovo Airport, it's 22 km on normal roads, 17 km through the fields (a taxi will cost 500-600 rubles during off-peak hours).

From Trёkh Vokzalov Square, it's an hour and a half by public transport (metro plus bus/minibus – an hour and a half is the maximum, including all waiting times and transfers between stops).

So, I'm attaching a poll – this is the price range that St. Petersburg has indicated. If people want Moscow, I will continue to look for options (four more venues, in addition to the current one, have received our requirements and wishes – but they are still working on proposals) and at the same time try to lower the price for the current option. In general, Voskresenskoe looks good at first glance.

Within a close radius, most of the remaining establishments are either government institutions or belong to the Federal Protective Service, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, or the Ministry of Internal Affairs (which aligns with the current realities of the Russian Federation). Many private businesses have closed down.

The location and the owner suggest that they have internet access and can increase its speed if needed. Yesterday, I sent them the speed requirements (two dedicated lines - 100 Mbps each) along with the selected halls, and I'm waiting for their response.

First, there was a brief discussion about Moscow back in September at the gathering (where I told everyone that I would be working on securing a location in Moscow in November), and second, I am simply fulfilling previously stated commitments – I was given the figures, and I immediately posted them here. I had no information about Peter's application until Roma posted it on the forum (and Roma had no information about my plans).
If the community is perfectly happy with St. Petersburg, with its double beds/sofas (which, in my opinion, is the main drawback of the St. Petersburg location) and the still-undecided final dates, then there are no questions.
I simply provided an alternative in case there are other opinions (since "non-St. Petersburg" activity in the St. Petersburg thread – that is, activity from people coming from other regions – is low).

More options are better for everyone.

For now, Peter's proposal looks more convincing.

I agree, Moscow is a great choice. A buffet is a good idea, as long as it's not structured like "breakfast from 8 to 10, lunch from 12 to 14, dinner from 18 to 21" – this is based on real-life experiences!

It doesn't matter that the CIS tournament is supposed to be held in different cities in Russia and the CIS.
It doesn't matter that it's faster and more convenient to travel to Moscow.
A lot of things don't matter; they just decided, and that's it.
At some point, the CIS tournament simply turned into a meeting of old friends, without any intention of including or adding new faces to the elite group.
Seriously, when organizing the event, you should rely on the core group who will definitely come, and it will definitely be a pleasure for everyone to see them, and you are absolutely right. Why this is still called the CIS tournament is unclear.

Moscow is attractive because of its logistics, and Moscow is attractive because of the potential for a large-scale event, both in terms of spectators and new players, but who needs that?

And another question: does the buffet include any alcohol? Based on experience with this one, they had some medium-strength beer until 10:00 PM, diluted vodka during meals, and wine/champagne in bottles.

I waited until November, and when I didn't see or hear that anyone was planning to organize the CIS 2021 tournament, I decided to take on the task myself. Regarding the claim that there's no influx of new participants – that's laughable. There were many new participants in the previous CIS tournament, and I think there will be just as many, if not more, in this one.
Moscow is undoubtedly attractive, and I'll be happy to take a look at your application for 2022. However, it's too late for 2021; tomorrow, the deposit for the venue will be paid, and the contract will be signed.

Well, the St. Petersburg proposal is indeed more convincing because it includes all the specific details. However, the community is now dependent on the need to make an urgent prepayment for St. Petersburg and sign the contract tomorrow without fail. I have no doubt that Roma will do everything with quality and enthusiasm (of course, within his own understanding of how it should be... I will try to help if there is a physical possibility).
It's just a pity that for the second year in a row it's in the same place – who knows, maybe someone from St. Petersburg will write that "you shouldn't call your local gathering a CIS event" (and if out of 60 people, 30-40 turn out to be locals, then he will be right) – well, in that case, 2022 will be in Chisinau or Moscow, or somewhere else, and there will be an opportunity to prove ourselves with actions – or maybe not...
