Behind the scenes, we've already had some preliminary discussions; options from a potential masochist organizer will appear very soon.

But just in case, I'll remind you once more of the format we have evolved into over these years regarding venue requirements. Perhaps someone can add something if we are missing anything :smile35:

Regarding the base.
1. The main room stock should be equipped with single beds, no more than 3-4 people per room.
2. Ability to organize a welcome banquet.
3. Three meals a day with menu options, including for vegetarians.
4. Availability of additional leisure activities (ping-pong, billiards, football, baths/saunas, pools, fishing, and all the rest — the more, the better).
5. Maximum isolation of our group from other possible vacationers.
6. Absolute loyalty of the administration regarding night noise and own alcohol.
7. A relatively nearby store for booze.

Regarding the hall for Heroes.
Availability of sufficient space for 40 people with laptops to stay comfortably: this includes convenient tables and chairs that match the tables in height and comfort, considering long periods of sitting.
Equipment: projector-screen, at least 1 wireless microphone, amp-speakers with the ability to connect a laptop, with all necessary cords and cables, a water cooler with hot and cold water or its equivalent in constant general access — either in the hall itself or in immediate proximity. A sufficient number of sockets around the perimeter of the hall so that everyone can plug in via power strips; by the way, let's not forget about the power strips themselves — they must be available in sufficient quantity.
Internet: the higher the speed, the better, but this is always a pain every time.
It is also desirable to have an additional meeting room/smaller hall adjacent to the main one: for poker-drinking sessions and for the final match, which is broadcast to the general hall on the big screen.
I remind you that the hall(s) are provided for the entire duration of the event for our full private 24/7 use; cleaning is carried out only upon agreement with the organizing committee; outsiders and base staff may be admitted to the hall(s) only upon agreement with the organizing committee.

That's about it. Next, two bases will be presented for public judgment, each with its own pros and cons: we have already visited the bases, looked-felt-photographed them, and conducted negotiations on the price. So, let's go! :smile14:

A long time ago (in 2016), I already tried my hand at this role, and I wouldn't say it went smoothly, quite the opposite, but 4 years have passed, and behind the scenes, there's talk that it would be good to repeat the event in St. Petersburg, so I present 2 options for venues for your consideration: https://losevopark.ru/ and https://www.plotvichkinazavod.ru

I visited both venues yesterday and will briefly describe the pros and cons.

Losevo Park

It's somewhat reminiscent of the Aurora club, where the CIS 2016 was held. In other words, the venue is large, comfortable, and easily accommodates 200+ people, which, in my opinion, is not ideal, as our event will disrupt the peaceful rest of those around us, although I warned the administration about this, as well as about the fact that noise and chatter will constantly come from the conference hall, but I was assured that there would be no problems with this.
Regarding accommodation, we are offered to occupy an entire building for 40-45 people (the rooms vary, from a simple standard to a suite). If necessary, we can rent additional rooms in the neighboring building or a cottage.
The attractions of the venue are well visible in the photos on the website; I can add my own later, taken yesterday.
The internet... the internet there is not very good, like at Aurora; it won't handle more than 2-3 streams simultaneously.
Let's move on to the main point - the cost (accommodation, three meals a day, hall equipment, WITHOUT a banquet) - on average, it will cost about 20k per person
A banquet is optional - the menu ranges from 1300 to 2500 rubles, there is no corkage fee, but there is a service fee - 10%.

In summary, it's a beautiful venue where you can have a good time (football, volleyball, mini-golf, a 25-meter swimming pool), a large conference hall with equipment, but it's a bit expensive, and the internet is not very good (although we can try to improve this; they promised to contact the provider to provide us with a separate dedicated line), but whether this will happen and how much it will cost is still unknown.

The second option is Plotvichkina Zavad'... photos are available on the website.

We will have the entire venue at our disposal, which is undoubtedly a plus, and in general, the owner of the venue is willing to make almost any compromises - noise, chatter, and alcohol do not bother him. He also promised to provide additional equipment and improve the internet to the level we need (they promised an outgoing signal of about 40-50 Mbps). There is also a football, volleyball, and basketball field, as well as billiards and 2 saunas. There is a small outdoor heated swimming pool (visible in the photos on the website).
The downside is that the hall is small, but there is a large heated tent (40 people can comfortably play there; electricity and heating are provided).
Another plus is that there is excellent fishing; it is possible to rent boats, both ordinary and motorboats.
The cost - hall, tent, accommodation, three meals a day, BANQUET - will cost approximately 16k, those who wish can opt out of the banquet - it will be even cheaper.

In both cases, the prices are not entirely final; there may be a slight adjustment downwards, but for this, we need to know, at least approximately, the number of participants, both players and spectators.

Yes, there was a question about logistics - in this regard, the Losevo Park option undoubtedly wins; 80 km versus 140 km from St. Petersburg. This may be a decisive factor for some (for example, to take a trip to St. Petersburg). By the way, it is easy to get to St. Petersburg by electric trains - to the Losevo and Myullpelto stations, respectively. The railway stations in both options are 15 minutes away.

If we go to St. Petersburg (especially with the second option), I’ll probably bring some Poles with me. This time, we might even manage to put together a pretty decent group – right now, we can travel to St. Petersburg with a free electronic visa. Kreygasm

I think whether it's Peter or not is no longer a big question: there's a seasoned organizer, there's a network of contacts in Peter who can help with certain things, and there's Grandpa Merlin (who happens to have a conference in Peter on May 1st). Basically, we propose discussing the suggested locations. I'm a little worried about the tent in Plotvichkina Zavodi, but if it's electrified and has heating, what difference does it make? Moreover, the owner immediately contacted a provider and offered a solution tailored to our needs. Losevo-Park looks more well-maintained, more beautiful, has a wider range of leisure activities, is more pretentious, and is closer to Peter. But the price will also be significantly higher. And, of course, there will be overlap with other vacationers. After all, Plotvichka will be working exclusively for us: as practice shows, it's much easier to solve any issues in this format (and we have some very unusual ones). I agree with Merlin, the factors of price and freedom of action are much more important than a slightly higher level of comfort. Our "leisure set" is still 99.9% the same all the time. And for those who really (not just in words) want to go on a trip, 80 km and 140 km make no difference.

p.s. I would like to know more details about Plotvichkina's prices; there is no information on the website. Specifically, is a cottage for two people more expensive per person, and if so, by how much?

Prices (16k) are indicated regardless of whether a person rents a 2, 4, or 6-person cottage (achieved through negotiations).
There are only 12 two-person cottages by the pool, and if someone wants to stay specifically there, I recommend booking in advance, although the others are, in my opinion, just as good. If I'm not mistaken, a maximum of 3 people can stay in a room, so there won't be a hostel with a bunch of beds in a shared room.

The maximum number is 64, then there will be a dormitory with cots and mattresses on the floor, although you can always try to ask to stay in the staff cottage with 2 waitresses :)
