Here's a debate brewing. Maybe we'll start banning accounts soon for using a word starting with the letter "Ж"?
I know that Shope doesn't like being referred to with a similar-sounding word, but sometimes it slips out from him, even though I have great respect for him. It's purely mechanical, or sometimes in the context of an in-game situation. And I don't think it's an insult, just like playing Leningrad's song about "Ж" before a game with him.
And these jokes, which some consider insults (explicit and implicit), will never end, precisely because that nickname was chosen. Let's be honest.
By the way, my first Heroes game nickname was also similar to this "forbidden word" (old-timers will remember). I solved the problem of teasing and "insults" by changing my nickname.
Don't you guys understand English at all? Stinger, and you too are getting involved. But honestly, I respect that you're trying to de-escalate things.
But nevertheless... Shopa didn't write anything about a word starting with "zh" in the first post. He got upset because of the veiled accusation that he was avoiding playing games. Later on, people started wondering – what exactly did Shopa say?< But this is just spam from participants who weren't paying attention; it wasn't the main topic from the beginning.
Don't you guys understand English at all? Stinger, you're doing the same thing. Well, at least you're trying to de-escalate the situation, which I respect.
But nevertheless. Shopa didn't even mention the word in his first message. He got upset because of the veiled accusation that he was avoiding playing games. It was only later that people started wondering – was there something about Shopa after all? But that's just spam from inattentive participants in the conversation; that wasn't the point from the beginning.
I'm talking about something else entirely. About what Osfaraon meant. After all, everyone understood what he meant, except for the particularly tolerant ones.
Don't you guys understand English at all? Stinger, and you too are going down that road. But I respect you for trying to de-escalate the situation.
Nevertheless, Shopa didn't write anything about a word starting with the letter "zh" in the first post. He got upset because he was practically accused of avoiding games. Later on, people started wondering – what exactly did Shopa say?< But this is just spam from inattentive participants; it wasn't the main topic from the beginning.
Actually, I included that part at the end of my message, calling OSFARAON an asshole, as he called "my attitude (?)" without any reason
I've always referred to the player "Enota" as "Enota" or "Shopa" here. With a capital letter and without quotation marks. The word "zhopa" was written in lowercase and enclosed in quotation marks. How much clearer can it be? Excuse me, did anyone even notice this difference? Please tell me, it's important for me to understand.
Regarding Enota's decision to withdraw from the tournament. How was I supposed to evaluate it? The player studied the rules, registered, played the games, and then withdrew, essentially forcing me to change the tournament rules – to ban G+U. And two weeks later, when I changed the rules, but in a different way – I removed a player, and then I was accused of doing what I was forced to do for two weeks (changing the rules).
Gentlemen, we have a clear example of double standards here. ))
Regarding the "change" in the rules regarding disqualification. Helen, I posted a message here three days ago, asking you to contact me or write here and let me know how you plan to play 5 games. You ignored this message, but immediately responded to another one – about the result of the FTS and Lutski game. =)
Then, we chatted in the Twitch chat. By the way, thank you for contacting me, even if it was in that way. Our dialogue is below; I hope it will help you understand why I made that decision.
The idea of the prize was to play and win it, not to get it without playing. ))
Helen, there's nothing offensive here.
Look. I have the right to express my opinion, and you just gave me that right with your previous message.
In Russian, there's an expression "to play dirty," and a person who does that is called a "dirty player." Also, in Russian and languages around the world, there's the concept of double meaning. I'm sure you're familiar with this technique.
Furthermore, when Enot skipped games in the first tournament for two weeks to avoid risking the top spot, he was "playing dirty" (this is just my opinion, not an insult to anyone). In the second tournament, when I introduced mandatory games, you did the same thing (and again, this is just my opinion).
The fact that Enot's nickname and the word "dirty player" sound similar adds a bit of spice to the situation, and it's nothing more than a joke and a double meaning, but definitely not an insult. I thought that those who wanted to would understand and laugh. By the way, that's exactly what happened – Stinger's and Benis's messages confirm this. But apparently, it's too complicated. In the future, I will refrain from using this kind of expression and jokes.
As for Enot, I respect him as a player. And how could it be otherwise? He's objectively a top-tier player. I don't know him as a person and can't judge, but I'm sure that from our short online communication, he's a worthy person. No one wanted to offend anyone; why would they? And getting offended by the word "ass" in 2019, lol, what's that?
I hope I've explained everything clearly.
P.S. Regarding the first tournament. If I thought that Enot didn't deserve to be in the top spot then, I wouldn't have paid him the prize and wouldn't have officially congratulated him on the forum. I saw the situation as my own mistake and tried to fix it by introducing the rule of 5 mandatory games for the current second tournament. Enot absolutely deservedly won the top spot in the first tournament according to the rules and received the prize. The fact that there were no rated games at the end of the tournament is also a fact. By the way, the participants themselves pointed this out to me. I wouldn't have known or guessed it myself. I don't have the time or desire to monitor each participant in detail. I know almost all of them personally, and they are all worthy players. I thought that it would be enough to give the prize, and the games and the tournament would be as open and fair as possible without any intervention. But reality forced me to write the rules and manage the tournament.
Now, that's definitely all. (Helen, and there's also a double meaning in this last sentence – did you notice?) xD

Really funny mr osfaraon ))) As i remember in first edition of this tournament at the end only Bishop had real chance to take first place, he played most games on M templates at this point. Funny thing is i've asked him for a game few times but he doesn't wanted to play more standard maps, he didn't ask for a game single time ) your opinion is so wrong there and it's really offensive if you call that in public forum without knowledge about situation. If you'r trying to tell me your expression was unlucky coincidence i think you'r lier ) Thats all i want to say, good luck with tournaments in future

This was not an unlucky coincidence. It was a deliberate use of the word "жопа" (ass), not directly related to you, and not intended to offend anyone.
I repeat my position that intentionally refusing to play games for the sake of a prize is not worthy. In Russian, it's like being an "жопашин" (asshole). Hellen was trying to do exactly that, which is why he was disqualified.
You can continue to believe that you and Hellen are pure, noble players, always open to games and any tournament situation, and consider everyone else to be liars.

Based on your latest and prior responses, it's quite obvious that the "ass" was a jab aimed at Szopa. You don't have to like him, but if you're going to badmouth someone, then stick to facts and don't act clueless and innocent when confronted about it. It really seems like you're just being petty and spiteful because Szopa resigned from your tournament.
I reiterate my position that intentionally not playing games for the sake of a prize is not honorable. In Russian, it's like being a jerk. Hellen was trying to do exactly that, which is why he was disqualified.

Where are you getting this from? I've been in Ukraine since the end of last week, and there was only one opportunity to play, and I wrote to my opponent, but he was tired, and we didn't play. Or is being a jerk refusing to play a long game when you don't feel like it, and most importantly, there's no point because you have 100 points more than your opponents. I have no complaints about the disqualification; you have the right to change the rules every minute in your tournament. But, in my opinion, you don't have the right to call participants in your tournament jerks.

Whatever the regulations are, that's how the players behave. I even looked at the first post – it doesn't say anything about not being a jerk, or even what that means. So, disqualification for refusing to play is not provided for in the regulations.
Of course, as always: whoever pays, calls the shots. But then it's easier to just make it a closed registration and include a limited number of people in the tournament. Otherwise, it seems like the player didn't break the rules, but still got disqualified :smile32:

The player violated the rule of playing 5 mandatory games. He hasn't played a single mandatory game since September 23rd. Vanya and Zhenya don't have the opportunity to play 5 games in 2 days starting September 29th, as Helen wanted. You don't know about the internal correspondence on ICQ and the attempts to negotiate with him. This is a clear abuse of the rules. I intervened. I gave him 2 days. I scheduled an odd game. The player ignored it.
Or do you think I shouldn't have intervened and forced him to play 4 games in 2 days? This is a closed tournament for trusted players, for fun, and the prize is just a nice bonus. I won't allow this to turn into a constant search for loopholes in the rules for personal gain. For those who don't want or can't play for fun, turning the tournament into a mercenary thing – the door is closed.
Personally, how would you feel about the situation when, before entering the tournament, it is known that from September 23rd to 30th, you need to play 5 games, with two specific direct competitors, and one of them is avoiding you and says that he can only play after September 29th. And who needs to put up with this nonsense? And for what? Is it normal to behave like this?

But, in my opinion, there is no right to call participants of your tournament jerks.
I have the right to express my opinion. Jelen117
But teasing, even insulting, players who won in previous seasons of the tournament is normal behavior. Everyone has the same right to express their opinion.
Why are you denying me something that you allow yourself? It's impossible to have a normal dialogue with you. Double standards and evasions.
All of this could have been resolved 3 days ago. Both with Ukraine and with the tired Lutski. There is my message in the thread where I ask you to contact me and give me information that everything is fine. You ignore this message, but respond to something completely unimportant about whether Fts vs. Lutski was a win or a loss.
You also didn't respond to Zhenya. I concluded that you are deliberately delaying. I waited 2 days and issued a red card. Everything is logical and consistent.
Am I that scary? Just contact me in advance and say, Misha, I will most likely be in the top 3, but I can only play from the 25th to the 30th, starting on the 29th. Lol, I would gladly change the rules for you, lower the bar to 2 games, for example – just so that everyone is comfortable and not stressed. That's what friends and players who respect their opponents do. Unfortunately, your behavior was not like that. I look at the rules, see that I am not formally violating anything, and I keep silent. That won't work.

I haven't been following the tournament and don't know when this rule appeared, but if it exists, then everything is fine. However, it's unclear why the player was kicked out, being called names, instead of simply stating that he violated a certain clause of the regulations.
Osfaraon The idea behind the "non-tournament" is that a reward is given to the top player. Does this mean there is a specific top player lobby? What will happen if an unregistered player in the thread is the top player in the final results?
