Imagine if someone decided to create a setting inspired by MMOs and their guild wars. But it's not even an isekai where the protagonist "wakes up in the game" to somehow justify these strange world-building elements. Add some shonen tropes, artwork that shows who they were looking up to among their senior colleagues, and some fanservice.
It doesn't sound too scary, but the gist is clear; it's something like "a passable game, good for playing while drinking beer."
P.S. I'm rereading this thread from the beginning, and it's so funny.
You would have also said "Sailor Moon." My brain could only handle 5-6 episodes of THAT when I was 8. I still remember the plot:

Full Metal Alchemist - it's also very sad, about how at the beginning, the two alchemist brothers wanted to bring their mother back to life, but instead, the older brother lost an arm and a leg (he walked around with iron prosthetics throughout the series), and the younger brother lost his body altogether (throughout the series, his soul was trapped in armor). So, they set out in search of the "Philosopher's Stone" to restore the younger brother's body and the older brother's arm and leg, but to get it, they had to go through a lot. The brothers even fought their own mother, in the form of an evil homunculus. And when they finally found it, the older brother had to go to our world to save his younger brother. Fortunately, in the full-length movie "Shambala," they will meet again, but at the same time, many good people will give their lives for their reunion.
The opinions of Redditors hardly matter on any topic, especially when it comes to anime, so the list of practical benefits is irrelevant.

This is, by the way, the only reason to watch the series, but there's too little of it, and it's not always good, compared to the total number of episodes.
Imagine a plot on the level of Arcomage, but with Azazel or someone similar as the main character. And then add shots of his backside, bare torso, etc.

But again, the plot, setting, and characters are the most important things, and fanservice is more of a pleasant bonus than the main reason to watch. Azazel is cute and awesome, but the anime itself doesn't appeal to me more because of that. In Fullmetal Alchemist, despite the many cool characters, there isn't a "husbando" specifically for me, and there's not much fanservice in general, but the anime itself is amazing.
