ACTUALLY, I wrote about many of these in the thread about recently watched movies, but I will still express my Very Important Opinion and add a lot of text.

1. Evangelion - I'm almost ready to watch it, but I'll save it for later, when there's "nothing else to watch." I'm a little put off by the fact that there's too much of the everyday life of ordinary Japanese schoolchildren, tears, and relationships, judging by some reviews, but some moments are still intriguing.
2. Cowboy Bebop - a very cool opening, a great atmosphere, but it didn't quite resonate with me; the characters aren't bright enough, the setting isn't engaging enough. I understand why this cartoon is appreciated; many compare it to "Firefly"... which I didn't like at all. I at least finished "Cowboy Bebop" with some enjoyment.
3. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - oh, I can talk endlessly about this cartoon and how great it is. The setting is top-notch, the plot is top-notch, the characters are top-notch, the original is top-notch, and they managed to make an almost frame-by-frame adaptation, and it's even better; there are some minor flaws, but they don't spoil the overall impression. This is the best animated content I've watched; only "Doctor Who" has ever grabbed my brain with such force. I should tell a separate cool story sometime about my experience with this timeless masterpiece, and also why a certain small jerk with incomplete limbs simply had to become one of my favorite characters.

Well, there's a very rudimentary and very weak interest. Maybe someday.
5. Death Note - hehe, mmm. The cartoon is very cool and interesting if you remove the part that happens between episode 26 and the ending, but it made a rather heavy and oppressive impression on me. The dark atmosphere, the lack of really attractive characters, the theme of death - well, it kind of overwhelmed me in the end, even leading to a mild depression. Although, I must admit, I watched the first half with pleasure because it was really interesting.
8. Naruto - I haven't watched it and don't want to, but I'll add my two cents. The title is really very well-known, it still pops up, although its peak popularity has long passed, so I'm not surprised by its presence.
10. Attack on Titan - unrealistically awesome, creepy, and interesting setting, but it was bogged down by a drawn-out plot and boring characters. Many mysteries, many interesting things, a great atmosphere, but everything is so slow and sad, and the characters don't connect with me, so...
13. Puella Magi Madoka Magica - in principle, it's not bad and even very interesting, a great atmosphere, a good plot. Again, the characters are lacking; they seem good, they have personalities and development, but they don't really connect.

40. My Neighbor Totoro
MIYAZAKI. He has very cool cartoons, but personally, they don't really resonate with me. Everything is good, wonderful, and magical, but you know that feeling when you see something unrealistically atmospheric, but that atmosphere doesn't personally touch you? That's how it is with him.
16. Gurren Lagann - I put it on my list to watch when I found out that they throw galaxies at each other, with my light giant robot mania, I have to see it. I put "Lexx" on my list to watch for the same reason and didn't regret it.
19. Sailor Moon - another top-notch cartoon, and here, unlike others, I like the classic adaptation better, in which they ignored the manga. If you compare it to the manga and the second adaptation, the shortcomings are not as critical compared to the advantages. It's a very cool, light, kind, and fun comedy about wonderful girls, seasoned with an interesting setting in which you can let your imagination run wild. Although, I feel bad for the gender-bending.
21. Legend of the Galactic Heroes - really very cool, chic, well-thought-out, atmospheric, and large-scale cartoon with a captivating plot and good characters. My complaint? It's more like a historical documentary than a space opera. This can be seen as a compliment, but personally, I'm more interested in other aspects in series and especially in space operas.
23. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - almost on my list to watch, I'm still hesitating, but it's a higher priority than "Evangelion."
24. One Piece - actually, I think I'll like it. What puts me off is the fact that it's an ongoing series. If it ends, I'll give it a shot.
25. Pokémon - well, it's about the same as with Naruto; I don't want to get involved, but it's a very well-known franchise that has been around since the games, so it's okay, let it be.
28. Your Name - a cute, feel-good cartoon, I watched it with great pleasure, but it didn't really touch my soul. Too much romance, I'm not a fan.
31. Fate - a very well-known franchise; there have already been two promo events in the game with two sets of donation leaders, so I'm not surprised. Although, personally, I don't really care.
36. Lupin - I wanted to watch the series and get involved in the franchise, but it didn't happen; maybe I'll watch it someday. I watched a short film that Miyazaki himself worked on; it's top-notch.
39. Sword Art Online - it's so-so; I'm not even sure if I'll finish the third season. The characters are bland, the plot is boring, there's a lot of tears, harem, and fanservice. There are good moments, but not many. However, it didn't cause much disgust either; it's generally in the "good for watching while drinking beer" category.
41. Sakura - another one of the bastions on my crusade against magical girl anime. Other bastions are "Tokyo Mew Mew" and "Pretty Cure." I realize that "Sailor Moon" is probably much better, and I dropped "W.I.T.C.H." (not anime, but also a magical girl anime) after the third episode, but you won't know unless you try.
49. One-Punch Man - a cool, satirical cartoon, a little crazy, but that's a plus. I should watch the second season. In general, it's not "wow," but the plot is okay, the characters are pale, but quite cute (so cute that I donated a Genos skin in the game), I watched it with pleasure.

I would also add "Rubak" - seriously, a great example of high-quality humorous fantasy, well-known in narrow circles. At least it's noticeably better than SAO. MAYBE "Wolf's Rain" somewhere at the end of the list - I watched it a long time ago, I don't remember much, but it seems like a good atmospheric cartoon with pleasant characters, a deep meaning, and other such things.

I wouldn't say it's niche. I'd understand that about similar works like "The Pied Piper" (manga, the adaptation wasn't very good, and only the character designs remained) or "Gokudo," but not about the very famous Slayers.

24. Piece - Actually, I think I'll like it. The fact that it's an ongoing series is off-putting. If it ends, we'll revisit it.

If I remember correctly, two-thirds of it is already completed. It might end in about ten years. I think you might actually enjoy it.

That's exactly the point – based on my experience, Slayers seem like a rather iconic creature, but in reality, they appear quite rarely. It's not as if I spend all my time in places where they are likely to appear, but still.

They are a cult classic and still relevant. Less iconic than some other titles, but among those released in the nineties, it is one of the most popular and significant.

In that case, it's even stranger that it's not on the list.

The list is generally quite strange; take, for example, SAO, which almost everyone has criticized. Or the frankly mediocre KLK.

I'm not a big fan of anime, but I have vague doubts that half of it gained popularity solely due to its hype and constant mentions everywhere.

Well, yes, judging by the full-length movie, there's something interesting there, but I don't feel like starting to watch something ~endless.
I have the same feeling about "Fairy Tail." The idea seems good, and I like fantasy, but something...
P.S. Since One Punch Man is almost last, the rating is definitely questionable.

Thanks, I fixed it. But shouldn't One-Punch Man be first?

Well, these are full-length films, so probably not. But among the series, it's definitely in the top five.

I'll add that I recently finished watching Alicization, or rather, I finished it. I don't know why, but it will be in the list of my useless memories.

I'm considering the Fairy Tail, but I'm not completely sure yet.

I wouldn't recommend it.
