Well, now there can be no doubt who the protagonist of this anime is and who is the MVP of the team. A modest, unremarkable girl with a difficult childhood and social phobia goes to a metropolitan academy, discovers unique talents within herself, makes friends, and achieves success. It's a timeless classic.
E si sui vius, er mi grans benananza, e si ieu muoir, er mi grans deliuriers
The complete lack of support or detailed advice regarding the extended range of spells for each school somewhat puzzled Moriner. While practicing magic, he spent a long time considering which aspect of the subject he should focus on. The elements seemed the most effective, but also excessively commonplace. Of course, had he known then – a couple of months ago – how soon they might have to put their knowledge to the test in combat, he would certainly have given preference to this school, but at that moment he quickly dismissed this option. Healing seemed rather uninspiring to him, and in the modern world, medicine could already compete quite well with magic. Summoning could potentially be the most effective, but the initial spells... brr... anything but disgusting insects. He was left to choose between a real, albeit minor, influence on the surrounding world, and an exclusively illusory effect. Again, in combat, confusing the enemy could prove to be a good bonus, but unfortunately, at that moment, Moriner found it much more appealing to unlock the potential of the school of alteration, whatever it might ultimately be.
When was Astilbe's last full lecture? It was in May, and now it was already the second week of August, and it was becoming clear that the newly initiated mages were eager to immerse themselves in the mysteries of magic and acquire new knowledge as soon as possible. However, before the lecture itself began, the mages were in for another surprise.
"Such methods remain incomprehensible to me, but my opinion on how things are done in your country is irrelevant. Therefore, asking me questions about this will simply be pointless." It became known just a few minutes ago that, after taking the oath at the beginning of the day, the mages would have to take another oath, this time that they would not use their craft against the interests of the empire or its empress. "All I need is your consent; I will take care of the rest." On the tables in front of the students were writing implements and a contract. "This spell belongs to a highly specialized school of curse magic, which will not be studied in this course. Its principle is simple: your magical channels will be bound by a pact in the form of a tattoo on your bodies; if you break the oath, they will burn out, and you will never be able to cast spells again. I strongly advise against trying to remove them by ordinary means. The good news is that, apart from that, this pact is harmless to human health. The design of the tattoo and the place where it is applied are irrelevant in themselves, but the administration has already determined a generally accepted imperial standard: for the elementals – a lotus flower, for healing – a heart symbol, for summoning – a butterfly, for alteration – a slipper, for illusions – a rose. They will be applied to the upper side of the palm.
Morinera was interested in one thing, but he decided to first familiarize himself with the contract itself, if possible. Presumably, his questions would be answered after reading it.
I, _____________________, swear that, regardless of the circumstances, I will not use the art of magic and the knowledge related to it, acquired at the Academy or elsewhere, against the interests of the Empire or Her Majesty Rinze Reim. In case of violation of this oath, I undertake to forever renounce magic and the sciences related to it.
I give my consent to the application of a binding pact on myself, confirming these words.
