The complete lack of support or detailed advice regarding the extended range of spells for each school somewhat puzzled Moriner. While practicing magic, he spent a long time considering which aspect of the subject he should focus on. The elements seemed the most effective, but also excessively commonplace. Of course, had he known then – a couple of months ago – how soon they might have to put their knowledge to the test in combat, he would certainly have given preference to this school, but at that moment he quickly dismissed this option. Healing seemed rather uninspiring to him, and in the modern world, medicine could already compete quite well with magic. Summoning could potentially be the most effective, but the initial spells... brr... anything but disgusting insects. He was left to choose between a real, albeit minor, influence on the surrounding world, and an exclusively illusory effect. Again, in combat, confusing the enemy could prove to be a good bonus, but unfortunately, at that moment, Moriner found it much more appealing to unlock the potential of the school of alteration, whatever it might ultimately be.
