So, they just said they fixed it to save face, but in reality, they didn't. Because this isn't the first time that Sugeev has been caught saying one thing but old decks remain unchanged, contradicting their own statements.
This perfectly captures the essence of high-level play in Mystery. Before this, there was a run in exactly the same conditions where I either won only one match or didn't win any at all. And then, suddenly, this happened.
I haven't been following the news about the game lately, so I was quite surprised when I opened the game after receiving a notification on my phone about 5 free packs and saw the new cards. I opened 15 packs and got a new Runic Abomination, two new gold cards (for Shadow and Dragon), and an old-but-new Fafnir. As usual, I had good luck with the mini-set.
Some of the cards seem suspiciously familiar. Goodbye, Sapphire, hello, Safi... or rather, Maisha. And they also added... hmm, Albert's sister or wife? And his two daughters, who decided to run away to the forest?
Also, what do you think of the Conflux? It's a really cute ending, and a bit quirky, considering the "graphics" of the story mode. The idea of having helpers on the board is interesting, but the only real challenge was the final battle.
Also, how did you like the conclusion? It’s a really sweet ending, and a bit quirky, considering the “graphics” of the story mode. The idea with the assistants on the table is interesting, but the real challenge was only the final battle.
Well, the ending itself seemed more or less logical to me. However, some moments leading up to it can be called too sweet and quirky, in particular the situation with Nikola and Eleanor. But overall, this story arc turned out much better than the first one. Although the character development still raises some questions; half of the main cast seems to be developing, while the other half just regularly spouts nonsense. But at least the supporting characters turned out to be more or less decent.
With the assistants on the table, yes, the idea is good, and I even wanted to have some fun with them in ranked mode. But the final battle may only cause difficulties the first time, and in general, it is easy, mainly because the opponent has fixed moves in the mid-game, regardless of the state of the board, against which it is not difficult to act.
I probably watched too many Gamelif streams because I used the phrase "too cute" in a rather positive way, haha. And by "absurd," I meant that all the graphics in the story mode can do is move the character figure horizontally or vertically. Anyway, the finale was good.
For the final battle, I decided to go with a dragon, and the first time, I used some old deck from ages ago with one Fortune and two Genesis cards, but I didn't quite make it. The second time, I won with a decent ramp deck, but it was still close. So, I think it would have been easier with more powerful and less random decks.
There was also a funny situation where one of the opponents played the new Rune character on turn 4, who reveals a card on evolve: he revealed Twin Guardians and got an 8/8 creature, which I couldn't counter. But on the second attempt, everything was easily defeated.
Added 8 minutes later It would be cool to have such a mode as some kind of Tavern Brawl, where, for example, one player has 40 health, and the other has Nikola from the story mode on the board. Perhaps such a fan-made mode is one of the things that Heroes of Might and Magic is missing. I'm not saying I love Tavern Brawl in Hearthstone, but sometimes it's exactly what motivates me to log in, even when I don't feel like playing ranked.
I managed to beat everything on the first try, except for the second-to-last level on Death difficulty. I didn't have a deck prepared, so I used the default one to lose and then complete the level with a deck purchased from the shop, but after losing once, I checked and found some unlimited update from 2016, and I won without any problems using that. As for picking the portal, I always used my "aggro" deck, and it worked on the first try.
I also haven't been playing much lately, I only log in to collect the free 30 gold from the Grand Prix. But I still wanted to qualify for the final of Group B, and luckily I managed to do it on the first try. I see that everyone is playing with the new Purge hero now, but I successfully punished them the old-fashioned way, with old-school Radiants:
The opponent put out Maisha, evolved her, we exchanged phrases in the spirit of "incredible," he held a long theatrical pause, after which he threw out what is on the left. I don't know how much he was short of finishing, I was too lazy to count.
And here is the reason why I stopped playing Ranked:
"Go play Gwent (or GwentU?), it's great now, and a new expansion is coming out soon," I would say if it weren't for the same problem as with Hearthstone. The collection.
Actually, I've started to feel the urge to play again. Today, I enjoyed playing with the Aggro Sylvan faction. I remembered how difficult it was to get used to it at first, but now I could play with it all evening.
