Posts from The 8th stage of the annual John Van Caneghem Tournament (2007).
Sign me up (this is the 3rd time I'm asking)! The save is ready! All that's left is to number it.
I wish everyone good luck!
Whether you've been added to the list or not is completely irrelevant... No one will punish you for it.
Go ahead and take the next number and submit it!

The difference is that the person (in a timely manner) posted that they want to register and are sending the save before receiving a response, but this "under the table" approach (as was the case with Richard) will no longer work! ;)
VDV_forever will be absent from the forum for a while due to objective reasons.
I ask Alan and Kyle to oversee the tournament.
Thank you in advance,

And with a cry: "no more torturing the computer":smile33: ... I sent the final save:smile04:
Please confirm receipt:smile07:
Due to the temporary absence of VDV, for your peace of mind, you can send the save to my email (g-andrew@mail.ru) as well, so there will be guaranteed confirmation.
Yeah... is this a common practice? I mean, creating such complex maps. You should warn people beforehand... otherwise, it'll be a miracle if I manage to send you my save file – I probably won't have enough time.
I tried my best to create a good map. And I succeeded so well... that now I'm even struggling to complete it myself.

Все люди - братья, но в каждом из нас спит волк.
I'm certainly not a brilliant strategist (as it turns out), but it seems to me that for the tournament stage, a map should be chosen that allows a reasonably skilled player to create several different Walkthroughs within a reasonable time, say, 20-30 hours of real time, using all possible tricks within the allowed limits... either I'm missing something fundamental, or this map is for a typical power-based scenario, requiring significant effort for optimization.
Well, as you put it: "allowing a reasonably skilled player to create several different Walkthroughs within a reasonable time, say, 20-30 hours of real time, using all possible tricks within the allowed limits..." - in principle, that's exactly what it is, because the point is that such a player immediately, even before the game, sees the very essence of the map - the most rational Walkthrough (you can call it whatever you want...), therefore, such a player will need time, approximately equal to what you wrote...
And this map is definitely worth attention...;)
A HUGE THANK YOU TO KOLBAZER AND VDV: FOR THE MAP, FOR THE OVERALL ORGANIZATIONAL LEVEL OF THE TOURNAMENT PREPARATION, AND IN GENERAL, IT'S JUST NICE TO SPEND TIME ON SUCH A "PROJECT"! Once again (to those who are still trying to improve their results), I would like to wish them to take a place closer to the stars...:)!
