A significant contribution from the previous CIS organizer! I would like to avoid empty promises, but I believe it is right and important for a potential future (even if only theoretically, as there are not many) CIS organizer to communicate with the previous one. I think that many important points regarding current issues and everything else necessary can be learned from the previous organizer (and possibly also the host) of the past CIS event. It is very important not to lose the level of organization for future tournaments!
I've also been to Batumi. And there are clearly more interesting places there than in Chisinau or Michurinsk. One sightseeing tour of the city will be more than enough. And the CIS community has never aimed for anything more. Plus, Batumi has the sea. If someone thinks that's completely unnecessary, then let's remember CIS-2013, where the sea was very much in demand. Tbilisi is also great, but I would choose Batumi because of the sea, shorter distances, and more developed tourist infrastructure.
But in general, wherever an organizer appears, that's where we'll go :)
I have nothing against Batumi as a tournament location; I'm talking about the overall impression I have compared to many other cities. The price/service ratio is one of the worst for a resort. Personally, I would go to Tbilisi, but, of course, everything depends on the organizer, not on my preferences. A separate drawback regarding the sea (as of 2014) is that there's an 8 km long promenade and not a single toilet except for a couple of restaurants, which, of course, doesn't cover the entire beach. In addition, the sea is covered with a corrosive film from the waste of the nearby port infrastructure. I didn't get any pleasure from that sea at all. Only the food saved the day, and not everywhere. I don't even want to talk about the hotels. Yes, the chacha there is excellent :)

Therefore, we need to start thinking now: will the target audience be satisfied with the complete absence of "freebies" in the form of additions to the prize pool, a trophy, which is usually made at the expense of the organizer, and other perks (i.e., all related expenses will be borne by the guests and participants)?

The planning was based on the initial list that I posted earlier: comfortable accommodation, full three meals a day, a conference hall, and the administration's tolerance for alcohol and our noise. The number of rooms – in December, it was stated that there were 16 (now 18 according to the booking site – maybe they built more) single to triple rooms, with the possibility of adding one extra bed to separate rooms. That is, with a standard quorum of 35-40 people, we're talking about completely filling the hotel. The administration preliminarily set a price of $35 per person per day for the above (accommodation, three meals a day, conference hall, the possibility of drinking and making noise around the clock) (and this is the only option in Tbilisi at this price). The hotel is a recently renovated sports complex that now provides hotel services. There is an indoor pool, a hot tub, and a fitness room (for an additional fee). The price for a standard taxi from the airport to the hotel is around $25.
