This is very troubling for me, if I can't update my MAL I don't understand how else to validate my existence.

Last Exile (2003)
Very heartwarming. The anime depicts a very interesting, technologically advanced world, which is quite unusual and captivating from the very beginning. Closer to the second half, however, there was a moment when I started to feel a bit bored, and some of the characters began to behave very strangely, but it passed. Overall – great. I think I'll remember one or two characters for a long time.
Last Exile (2011)
The sequel is some kind of fanservice nonsense. I watched the intro, and the exaggerated, pseudo-original characters' relationships were enough for me. I dropped it after half of the first episode.

The ending is a bit weak, but overall it's quite interesting and enjoyable. I recommend it to everyone except Drakkosha and Plesen.
The story of the main characters reminded me of myself and another person, with a happy ending added. That said, it's not the most captivating and emotional thing I've seen, but it's good. I'd also like to mention that I'm a little disappointed that Harumi didn't have much screen time, as I really liked her from what was shown.

From Alex's behavior, it's clear that he doesn't watch anime.

Clockwork Planet
Initially, it seemed rather mediocre, but I actually enjoyed it. The setting isn't particularly interesting, but it's unique, and the humor-infused plot was quite enjoyable. The main character, although just a boy, turned out to be quite good, and the automaton is super cute – I won't hide the fact that I'd like to have one myself. As a bonus, I liked the opening; I rarely skipped it, even though there's nothing particularly special about it.
I could recommend it to Locken, as he's the only one here who appreciates culture besides me, and the author seems to be the same as for NGNL, but there's just too much mediocre action.
If you look at it objectively, it's quite average and unremarkable, but subjectively, it's the most enjoyable thing I've watched in the last few months, if you don't count the titles that are continuations of what I've watched before.

Does that mean Mento and I are allowed? Sure, sure...

Log Horizon
It just so happened that I've unconsciously watched about half a dozen anime about people being transported into "game-like" worlds, almost every time by chance and without reading the synopsis online, even though I can't really call myself a fan of this concept. The comedic ones somehow fulfill their purpose, while the serious ones usually suffer from superficiality and a simplistic plot.
This title turned out to be the closest to a certain serious quality standard – I liked how the world was realized and developed, from small details to global themes, and how the author managed to present a synthesis of realism with virtual conventions; I also liked the fairly well-developed characters of some of the characters. Perhaps the 24-episode series helped with this, but this also creates a problem – the narrative is very jerky. Here we have some information about the world, here we have a little bit of the main plot, and then we watch for five episodes in a row as the guys attend balls and have boring, not very plot-driven conversations at tables, and all this is seasoned with active glorification of the main character, which is not uncommon in Chinese cartoons, but here it looks completely unnecessary and contrived. Then we watch for another three or four episodes as random people wander around aimlessly, and then we listen to a secondary character giving a monologue for twenty minutes about how he sucks up. Here we fight, and here we make a few slice-of-life episodes with a festival. Why not?
I'm not against fillers, slow pacing, focusing on alternative characters, and all that, but here it looks like the author never figured out what style he wanted to present his story in – jumping from one thing to another, it's interesting now, and then it makes you want to drop this garbage, and then it's interesting again, and then you want to drop it and forget about it.
This duality is what prompted me to write this review instead of just removing the title from my "to watch" list. I can't even recall a similar rollercoaster of good and bad quality.

Well, I wanted to read this manga, but it says "the series is ongoing."

"Patema Inverted"
Full-length film. It messed with my head – this anime excellently portrays the idea of gravity and anti-gravity, and life in such conditions. Otherwise – it's good, but I wouldn't say it's exceptional.

Paprika
It's derivative. Like "Inception," but derivative. Why not, though?
Regarding the plot, villains, and other elements, they could have done better, of course. The main strength here is the idea and all sorts of mind-bending things; "Inception" was clearly better in this regard. And a couple of the characters are charismatic, Paprika herself and the chubby inventor are cool.
