And I keep watching adult cartoons.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Oh, and here's a more detailed review. I wanted to watch it a long time ago, but I finally got around to it. On Ples's advice, I think, I decided not to bother with the first adaptation and immediately jumped into the second one, which is based on the manga.
+ Very pleasant and likeable characters. I can't remember a single one who really annoyed me all the time (there were some at the beginning, but they improved), but there are a lot of those who I liked to some extent. Also, their relationships are cool.
+ Awesome design of the villains, especially Envy and Pride, I was completely blown away by them. I love all that chthonic stuff. And the main villain was great too, especially in the later episodes.
+ Interesting plot, it really kept me on the edge of my seat almost throughout the entire viewing. Of course, the template is standard, the good guy defeats the bad guy, but the presentation is cool and there are many interesting moments along the way, one thing leads to another, plus it's all generously seasoned with a bunch of Smart Philosophical Thoughts. I cried out loud in the last episodes, I finished watching half an hour ago and I'm still crying T___T
+ Despite the serious, heavy plot, mountains of corpses
mostly redshirts (no, not Edward, he survives) and rivers of blood, the cartoon itself is very kind, bright, sweet and fun. I even giggled at some moments during the battle with the final boss. It's nice to watch how the main characters and their friends, despite all the chaos and apocalypse around them, reveal the best qualities in themselves.
+ Musical score. If I, who only appreciates songs with vocals in a familiar language, notice this, then it's really that good.
- I was frankly bored and wanted to turn it off during the first few episodes. Maybe it's related to the fact that I started watching it right after turning off one trashy anime, full of skepticism towards Japanese animation, but I gradually got into it, hooked on it, and then it was impossible to tear me away.

10/10, oh Rassilon, 10/10, this is Babylon 5 of anime, the same awesome serious plot, the same light and fun presentation. Why did I hesitate for so long, why did I only watch it now. The best cartoon ever, I want to forget it and watch it again.
