Posts from “Heroes of Might and Magic V: Tribes of the East”
Unfortunately, it’s been disabled.
Hello, could you please tell me how to play Heroes 5 online? Where can I find information about this? If Ubi.com is no longer working, can I just download the game somewhere and play with people via Hamachi?
It is advisable to use a licensed disc of the game Heroes of Might and Magic V — Tribes of the East. This version of the game was released by the companies 1C and Buka. I do not recommend installing a pirated version: there may be numerous crashes, bugs, and problems in the game itself and when playing with online opponents.
Since the current version of the game is 3.1, the game version 3.0 installed on your computer needs to be patched to version 3.1. You can download the patch version 3.1 from:
- the official Nival Interactive website
- the official websites of the official distributors Buka and 1C
- Heroic Corner
After running the patch, the current version 3.1 of the game will be automatically installed on your computer.
It is advisable to download and install patches for game versions corresponding to the distributor. That is, if you bought a disc from 1C, then the patch should be taken from the 1C website.
In principle, as a rule, the patch found on Heroic Corner is suitable for the game version released by the company 1C.
You can check whether you have successfully installed the patch by going into the game and looking at the inscription in the lower left corner of the main menu. If everything is correct, there should be the inscription: Version 3.1.
2. Ways to play online.
You can find an opponent to play with on the Ubi.com game server. (no longer available) To do this, go into the game, click on network game-ubi.com in the main menu. You will be asked to enter an identification code, which you can find by looking at the inside of the Heroes box. Then you will create your profile, which will include a name and password. You will use this name to log in to the game service. After your identification, you will be taken to a list of channels that are available for you to play in. There will be 3 channels for a standard duel (one of them is a training channel, the other two are ranked) and 3 channels for a standard game (one training channel, two ranked). By selecting the game option and channel you want, you can create or join an existing game. To create a game, you need to click on the "create game" menu, then select the map you will play on from the list, if you want to play on a standard map. To generate your own map, you need to use the item (in the same menu) "create map". When creating your own map, you will need to specify a number of parameters that will affect how it looks, the strength of neutral monsters, the amount of resources and experience on the map, and so on. After generating the map, you need to save it under some name, click "create game" again, and select the map you generated from the list. After that, other players can join your game. After all the player slots in your game are filled, you need to set the indicator under your name to "ready". After clicking on the "Start game" button, you can play.
In duel mode, no more than 2 players participate. The process of creating a game is similar to the process of creating a game in standard mode, as described above. After creating the game, you need to select the hero you will play as in this duel from the proposed heroes. After your opponent has chosen their hero, you can play by clicking on the "Start game" menu.
3. Playing on a local network
To do this, you need to download and install a program that will create a virtual local network on your computer. The following are suitable for this:
- Hamachi (files.hamachi.cc/HamachiSetup-1.0.3.0-ru.exe)
- GameRanger
- COMODO EasyVPN
- Remobo
After this, you need to move the Hamachi network (if you chose this program) to the top of the list of network connections and save these changes:
- for Windows XP, go to the network connections folder, click on the "Advanced" menu, then "Advanced settings"
- for Windows Vista and Windows 7, go to the control panel-network and internet-network and sharing center, click on the "Change adapter settings" menu item on the right, press the ALT key (a menu should appear at the top of the window), select the "Advanced" menu item, then "Advanced settings".
After these procedures, you need to create your own virtual network or join an existing network (you need to know the name of the network and the password to enter this network). Then launch Heroes, select network game-local network in the main menu. Here you can choose a standard map from the list when creating or generate your own map, as is done when using the ubi.com server.
Duel mode is also available on the local network. Only after entering the local network, you need to select the "Duel" menu item.

Is there a mod that allows you to quickly split creatures into single units, like in Heroes of Might and Magic III? Using Shift, Ctrl, etc.
(I mean, filling all slots with single units with one click.)
And a button for quickly exchanging armies between heroes would also be useful.
