I don't have 43 Cyclops, but 43 Pirates, and I win.
fktifzobr@mail.ru
It seems that Dark Messiah interfered here, where the ID of the pirate was used for the Cyclops.
So, you actually have a mod/map-mod that replaces the ID of the pirates that the enemy received from Mirabelle. I need to change the file date of the pirates to a later date.
Currently, Istar, Saef, Ula, and Faydaen are at the bottom of the list. Does anyone have any thoughts on them?
I haven't played in a while, but in my opinion: 1) Saef definitely shouldn't be touched; he's a pretty strong hero. At the very least, it's not difficult to take the 2nd guild on any map, and +4 to magic skills by the end of the second week is definitely not something that makes him an underdog. 2) As for Ula, she's also a good hero. Luck of the Path is a definite plus on Veteran/Hero difficulty, her starting spell is strong, her special ability is good for breaking through defenses, and she's always ready for an unexpected battle with an opponent in terms of mana, and she plays well through Chaos. 3) I've never played as Istar, only tested his special ability, so it's hard to say anything for or against him. I need to try him out in practice; maybe the mana cost for summoning the druid or the initial skills/spells could be slightly adjusted. 4) Faydaen is weak in battles with opponents; his special ability is still somewhat useful for breaking through defenses, but I don't know if it's possible to edit his stats in the game files. As far as I remember, his special ability is hardcoded into the executable, which is bad.
Here's an opinion about Ula, for example.
Yegor Bystritsky (from VK)
Ula is... well, it's like that.
Talent doesn't help much in the endgame; until you get Light Magic or at least Speed Magic, she's only useful against archers because of the crystal. Taking her at the start is probably useless, but if she appears in the tavern, and you're on a map with many archers defending, then she's useful. But that's already two "ifs." It's interesting, but too situational. And it's not even a guarantee that she'll outpace a stack of archers; with an average initiative of 10, it's already random.
My laptop is being repaired, so I'm using my phone (which means I can't read the manual), but as far as I remember, Ula has a bonus to speed, and in that case, it's a very strong ability, and the opinion from VK is just nonsense (IMO).
... И древний лес, роскошен и печален, Блистает там воздушностью прогалин. Но между кедров, полных тишиной, Расщелина по склону ниспадала. О, никогда под бледною луной Так пышен не был тот уют лесной...

After the battle, the mana spent in combat is restored depending on the number of gems the player has [one mana unit = one gem].
Great Luck, Luck of the Road, Crystal of Secrecy. -----------
In my opinion, Faidaen has a quite powerful special ability. If you take perks like Battle Frenzy, Marksmanship, Retribution, etc., plus artifacts, then even alternative-tier archers become simply "killing machines." In combination with Faidaen's special ability, at the beginning of the battle, they can easily eliminate one of the enemy stacks, which is especially nice if it's enemy archers. Overall, it's very effective.
However, there is one huge drawback - you can't choose the target for the attack with this bonus. Therefore, when the opponent starts playing with "stacks of one," all the power of the specialization sometimes "goes to waste."
I think the situation is similar to Railag; they both have very useful specializations, but for some reason, they are underestimated.
I don't see how Ula can be effectively played using light magic on small maps and chaos magic on large maps, and consequently, at different levels. Any ranged unit using light magic has enough mana, which leads to the conclusion that special abilities and light magic don't synergize very well. (This doesn't mean that special abilities are useless for light magic.)
It's more interesting to play through chaos or summoning, as special abilities work better there. The starting skills and spells look good, as I already wrote – this hero doesn't seem like an outsider.
As for Faydaen, there's a feature against a real player: if they know which slot to put the single-target spell in, Faydaen will always use his special ability on it. I don't see a way to fix this; it's simply a disadvantage for the hero.
The truth is, there is one huge drawback – you can’t choose the target for the attack with this bonus. Therefore, when the opponent starts playing with “stacks of one,” all the power of the specialization sometimes “goes to waste.”
And also, his special ability always targets the lowest-level stack. In few cities is the first level a crucial stack for the endgame. Unless it’s the Dungeon, but they are more likely to come with 2x7 Rogues and the intention to outsmart you. By the way, it’s interesting how his special ability works against Ballistic Defense.
Could you add a bonus to Ule's initiative based on the number of gems he has? (For example, +4 initiative for every 15-20 gems), or something similar with mana, so that the boost is given at the beginning of the battle, possibly even on top of his maximum mana, but not exceeding twice that value.
I think replacing Ule's Secret Crystal with some kind of Phantom would be a good idea. Or just add this spell.
The issue, as I understand it, is that the crystal isn't useful in every battle. Although, with the crystal, it's quite authentic...

maybe, but summoning magic is something you need to know how to use. Maybe then increase the damage from the crystal? or give her the ability to summon elementals?
perhaps, but summoning magic is something that requires skill; you need to know how to use it.
On one hand, yes. But on the other hand, the balance needs to be calculated specifically for those who know how to use it (another option is technically impossible).
