Posts from How many factions are there?
In your opinion, what is the optimal number of races in Heroes 5?
Having many factions is great:smile54:

That's for sure!
Because this ratio is present in Heroes of Might and Magic III (which is why it is my favorite).
It is true that with a large number of races, it is difficult to maintain balance and diversity.
P.S. In my opinion, the 5th part embodies all the best from the 3rd part + successful innovations (primarily regarding skills), and the battle itself has been simplified (in the form of hints about who goes next and the number of killed units - in the 3rd part, you had to count everything yourself).

I'm all for more, the more the better! =)
And there will be clones of races.... This is not interesting at all.
The result is known to us – there will be 8 races.... And I think they are very different and unique! This can only be a good thing!

In my opinion, the ratio of 9 races: 3 good + 3 evil + 3 neutral is the most optimal.
I think that 12 races: 4 good + 4 evil + 4 neutral would also be good and optimal!

So, can you come up with 4 more races? And without ruining the balance? By the way, think about how 4 neutral races will affect the game's plot. Where will you fit them in if the battle is specifically between good and evil, and there were no neutrals in the first place? So, you can fit them in somewhere, but it will be quite difficult. And since there were no neutral castles in Heroes 5, let's not have them. (Hacker convinced me))))
I agree about the neutrals, and 12 races are definitely possible (as was the case, for example, in Age of Wonders 2), but for this, you need a huge desire, creative ideas, more money, and time – which is constantly lacking!:smile32:

Remember what happened with the 4th installment...
Even back in the days of the 3rd game, people desperately asked for a hero on the battlefield, armies that move without a hero, etc.
In which version was this implemented... and what happened??? A split among the fans, some accepted it, but most took it with hostility....
You need to be more careful with your wishes... They may come true...
Асха - Порядок! Ургаш - Хаос! Силат - Воздух!
Шаласса - Вода! Аркат - Пламя! Силанна - Земля!
Сар-Илам - Дракон-Маг! Эльрат - Свет! Маласса - Тьма!
I was thinking that it would be best if there were ten factions, 10! Add two neutral ones. Many people from the 3rd game loved the Swamp (Fortress). So, I suggest adding the Swamp and maybe also the Elemental Castle. I've already come up with a lot about it. Take all 4 elementals of the 4 elements. Although they are all level 4, they won't have any upgrades. At level 7, they will have a Phoenix, also without upgrades. And also add level 2 and 3 creatures for them. They won't have levels 1, 5, and 6 for balance. And there won't be creature upgrades. It's cool, but first, the Swamp!:smile13:
