Hello everyone, and my sincere apologies if anything is amiss...
The problem is this: I bought the "Throne of the King" add-on for Heroes 5 for my son... well, okay, for myself! I bought it from a reputable store; the disc seems to be a local license – it cost $9. There were no problems with the installation, but after launching the game, I saw a blue winged woman on the screen, and then the monitor switched to "yellow eye" mode, as if I were trying to set a screen resolution higher than allowed, and seductive sounds and music were coming from the speakers. And no matter what I try, I can't get the game to run with video! I previously downloaded, installed, and ran the Heroes 5 demo without any problems, but now I'm at my wit's end! And I even upgraded my computer a month ago – I have a Celeron 2.6, 1 GB of RAM, and a GeForceFX7600GS 128 MB video card... Help! What am I doing wrong?
By the way, if it means anything, I have an old but reliable Taiwanese Amaga monitor; it's 10 years old and 14 inches. It's still working and has never let me down, and my eyes never get tired when using it. The refresh rate is 75 Hz. The screen resolution is 800x600, 32-bit.

Perhaps the game settings initially have a resolution of 1024*768, and that's why all this mess is happening. But this is just a guess. You could ask someone to upload a save file with the resolution changed to 800*600, or figure out some configuration file. But it's also possible that the problem is of a different nature. Personally, I know that there is "Heroes 5", "Heroes 5: Hammers of Fate", and "Heroes 5: Tribes of the East" is being prepared for release. What is this "Throne of the King"? If it's a pirated version, like the games for the fourth installment of Heroes used to be (D&D or, for example, Alexander the Great), then it's possible that the pirates messed something up with the game, and it won't launch.

As for the disc, it seems it's not a pirated copy. Perhaps knowing where the disc was purchased – in Ukraine – might explain things.
By the way, has anyone heard anything about the "Throne of the King" add-on? It features three campaigns for Necropolis, Dark Elves, and Sylvan.

For Heroes of Might and Magic V, there is only one OFFICIAL add-on – "Hammers of Fate". All others are pirated versions.
