No, an elf is definitely needed. He's almost the only ranged attacker (if you consider ranged units). And tigers might not even make it and end up as mere cannon fodder. Especially if the opponent has a slowing effect (like Haven), and a general one at that. And the druid, as always, will clearly be too busy to speed up the tigers. He'll either be casting unicorn (or griffin) blessings, or, MOST LIKELY, he'll be busy summoning.
Well, there are also elements and flowers. As for the first strike, it's still not quite right. Many units have it, and many can block it.
In my experience, only two block it – the pikeman and the goblin knight, the champion, and maybe the mantis, perhaps someone else, but I don't remember, and not that many have it anyway, some do, but it doesn't matter. Tigers are good for clearing mines and the like; in a general battle in the later stages of development, they are not very effective, although it depends on the situation.)

No, an elf is needed in any case. Almost the only ranged unit (if you count the aerial units). And tigers may not even reach their target and become real meat. Especially if the opponent has a slowing effect (like Order), especially a general one. And the druid, as always, will clearly not have time to speed up the tigers. He will either cast blessings on unicorns (or griffins) or, MOST LIKELY, be busy summoning.
The elf is sometimes very and very useless; he is not a very good ranged unit, even though he shoots twice. If he doesn't have a direct shot, he deals little damage, and if he does, it means the enemy unit is close and can finish off the elf. The elf, like the tiger, is good for clearing neutrals, but if very fast ones appear, the elf is doomed.
P.S. Nature has a general speed boost + general luck, and then the question is, who is the meat, the tiger or its opponents?

This is an eternal question in Heroes 4: what's better, a ranged unit or a melee unit? Many players (especially beginners, but not only) believe that if there's no ranged unit in the army, life is meaningless. But Necromancers, for example, feel perfectly fine without ranged units. Now, about elves. The Speed buff of Nature greatly enhances tigers, as mentioned above. And in a battle against a hero, elves have many disadvantages: -against Necromancers, they deal very little damage, and they require another stack to quickly eliminate Vampires. -Order has Dispel, but the main thing is that you can't "outrange" Order, even with archers. -facing Chaos is dangerous even with a very high-damage, low-health stack. One cast is enough. -Life will either have a large number of ranged units or rush forward, and then the elves are very easy to kill or block (with angels, for example).
In short, in my opinion, for a battle against a hero with an army, tigers are better than elves (and they also move faster on the map and don't require as much wood). In general, in Heroes 4, it's much harder to protect ranged units from melee units than in Heroes 3 or 5. Therefore, in a serious battle, they can be quickly destroyed
So, you always have plenty of Sylvan creatures:D )) P.S. Tigers are really cheap.
Not exactly in abundance, I'm a bit short, but I haven't tried playing on a very high difficulty level yet.:smile43: And I use the market, which is good because you don't need to build it in the fourth week. P.S. By the way, I really will play on a higher difficulty... P.P.S. And I rarely use creatures from the portal. First, I don't have enough money, then I get forgetful...:) And that's a shame...:(

Playing on high difficulty levels almost doesn't make sense, the computer is still dumb, and it just gets an advantage in the army, and it's not interesting to play.

Yeah... This is Nature's biggest advantage. By the way, you're also depriving yourself of summoning. Well, that's just my opinion...
Only two block on my watch - a pikeman and a goblin knight, a champion, and something like a mantis.
And minotaurs, I think... So it's not that few.
But even Necromancers feel great without archers.
I'm not a fan of the Equilibrium, but based on its results... In short, you get a little disappointed with the Vampires and start to appreciate the green creatures. They don't lose out to Vampires even in the normal version.
Order has Scattershot, but the main thing is that you can't "outshoot" them: Order still won't be defeated, even with a War Machine.
I agree. I've already forgotten about Forgetfulness. I hope the opponent doesn't have a Crystal or a Helmet... And you don't always know who you're playing against. So I still stand by my opinion. But I don't have anything against tigers either. They're good for variety :)
and they also move faster on the map.
Fireball, who do you want to outrun in the original game?
At high difficulty levels, it's almost pointless to play; the computer is still dumb and simply gains an advantage in its army, making the game uninteresting.
Thank you, I'll keep that in mind. :smile43: I just don't think I'll be able to play against a human:smile43: And yes, the computer is hopelessly inept...

What's wrong with that, playing against people is the best, I reinstalled the system and the Heroes game is gone, I can't find it now, it's a shame...

Minotaurs might not ignore the first attack, but they can reflect it.
But that's not the point here. Minotaurs are a large and unpleasant enemy.
Added after 11 minutes I checked about ignoring the first attack; it only exists for the pikeman, the dragon golem, and the goblin knight. That's all, only three.

I never disdain spells, but I simply don't like having extra creatures in my army. Maybe I've been playing as Agrael for too long; it really isn't useful for her...

Agraenel is a bard, I think, from the upcoming expansion... in any case, summoning is very useful for any Nature hero, and being a bard is a great class; you wander around with invisibility and suddenly, to the opponent's surprise, their castle is under siege, you summon an army, and the castle is gone!))

And the Bard class is really cool; you wander around with invisibility and suddenly, to the opponent's surprise, their castle is under siege, you summon an army, and the castle is gone!
No, Drakkosha understood me correctly. I wasn't talking about the spell, but the skill. Sometimes it's very useful. The main thing is to summon the right creatures. To do this, you need to level up to the third circle. Then neutral creatures will start appearing. And the Druid chain and the Ring of Elementals will enhance them. This is powerful. Especially good in online play.
