Well, hello there.
I wasn't sure where to put this, so I'm putting it here.
Now, how to explain what this is...
There's this program called Wagic: the Homebrew. It allows you to play Magic: the Gathering on the PSP (originally, now there are versions for Android, Windows, and even iOS).
Its main drawback is that you can't play against a real opponent. And the AI, of course, is dumb. Also, you have to download the card images separately because of copyright.
The main advantage is the open-source code, the ability to add your own cards, art, sounds, music, change the rules, etc. And it's so simple that even I, who have never programmed anything in my life, quickly figured out how to add my own cards.
Then, after playing the original version to death, I found a mod on the game's forum (http://wololo.net/forum/, if anyone is interested) that changes the rules to be closer to the old strategy games. With resource gathering, building, and unit recruitment.
In fact, this mod was posted there as an example of a new card game based on Wagic. There are only two races, and there's no art for the cards...
At first, I just wanted to create art to make the game more enjoyable. Then I added more cards. And then it snowballed...
In general, this build features the decks that I created, more or less based on the races from Heroes.
Namely:
Humans
Orcs
Elves
Dwarves
Undead
Demons
Wizards
Barbarians
Dark Elves
Something that was supposed to be the Fortress from the third part, but it turned out to be more or less Aztec/Maya. And also dinosaurs.
Elementals/Fairies (Conflux, basically)
Pirates (Horn of Abyss)
Something like Forge
And also:
- Atlanteans (a sea race instead of Nagas, a Japanese deck is in progress, but it's not ready yet. There are two anime-style decks, but that's not it.)
- A deck based on Slavic folklore, with house spirits, water spirits, and grandmother-hedgehogs.
It all looks something like this:
But. The problem is that all of this currently only runs on the PSP. Or on a modded PS Vita, where it seems to work too. I'm not sure about the PPSSPP emulator.
As I said, there are versions of Wagic for other platforms, but I don't know how to transfer all of this to them yet. The mod is old, for an old version of the program. And, as mentioned above, I've never programmed anything in my life.
So. If you have a PSP, then:
Download it from here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/e1w629g1obl97s1/HOWW%202.0.rar?dl=0
Place the W&W folder in PSP/Game
Place the wagic_resX folder in PSP/
Change the phase in battle with the left Shift key. The right Shift key shows the cards in your hand.
0-enter, start-exit.
The races are arranged in more or less the same way, using humans as an example:
Of course, the balance is off, but it's playable, I checked. And there are only three enemy decks, but I'll add more if anyone is actually interested.
That's it. This is all if anyone here has a PSP. And if you don't have a PSP... Well, then you can just download the card images. As fan art, or something. Or, I don't know, print them out and play in real life...
The cards are here:

The resolution is only 250x357, and the design is pretty silly (I made it in Magic Set Creator). I grabbed the art from everywhere, so it's probably all copyrighted... But what can you do.
So, I'm waiting for an answer to the question in the title: does anyone else still have a PSP? Or should I port all of this to Android?
And please leave your questions, opinions, and suggestions from those who manage to play!
