Music of the Abyss
Have any of you wondered where people go after death? Have you wondered what awaits you? Hell or heaven? Or perhaps life in other worlds? Is it possible that after death, every person goes exactly where they belong? That is precisely what our story is about…
Among the vast multitude of different worlds, one of the most notable could be called a little world with the simple name "The Abyss." Here rest the souls of various musicians of all existing genres. Some exist as demons, some as death warriors, some as paladins, and some as ordinary people who have not chosen whom to serve. This place is a paradise for rockers and hell for pop fans. Evil here is like good, and good is like evil. And their weapons are their own voices and musical instruments capable of turning into swords, clubs, and other lovely implements.
For the last few hundred years, the Abyss has been ruled by the widely respected Necromancer Norman. Unfortunately, old age no longer brings him joy, and the old man realizes it is time to retire. Having found a successor in his nephew Miconte, Norman was ready to leave the throne, when suddenly his main competitor, Rosen Berg, laid claim to the rule of the Abyss. This led to a mass of pretentious thoughts on his part, as a result of which Norman decided that he would not leave the throne until he got rid of his rival. Ultimately, disregarding all laws of logic, the lord gave an order to his niece Moena to kill and bring into this world Vic Zoom, who is destined to become a great Knight of the Abyss in the very distant future. This is exactly where our story begins…
Rules
1. During the game, changing your avatar, signature, and personal information is prohibited. If you urgently need to change information, discuss it with the Mage Guild in advance. If you are killed but wish to change your profile, you must take a screenshot of your profile before the change and post it in this thread.
2. Nights last about 24 hours. The sooner the Mage Guild receives the NDs, the sooner morning will come. At night, players must send NDs according to their role (in case of inaction, the player must notify the Mage Guild to avoid creating unnecessary problems for themselves)
3. Day lasts exactly 24 hours. In some cases, an earlier or later end of the day is possible.
4. A majority of votes are needed for execution. The vote must be formatted in bold as "Execute " (creativity is allowed – within reason and preferably without insults), otherwise the vote will not be counted. If you want to cancel your vote, write "Do not execute ", also in bold. If a player reaches the required number of votes, they will only be hanged after the end of the day and only if the votes do not change.
5. Clues about the killer are given based on the user's profile (nick, avatar, signature, etc.). If the murder was unsuccessful, the killer will find out, but not why it was unsuccessful. No clues are given for failed murders, except those declared by the killer themselves. Also, summaries contain a hint about the role of the deceased. The killer can plant 1 additional clue at the crime scene. It must point to them and be original. As for the complexity of these clues, there is quite a bit of freedom, but the Mage Guild still reserves the right not to accept a specific clue, with or without an explanation.
6. Discussing the game outside this thread (i.e., in DMs, ICQ, etc.) is only allowed if you have a role that permits it.
In groups, decisions are made collectively; the final word remains with the group leader. If any member of the group is offline, the group leader may make a decision without them. The mafia has 2 NDs.
7. Do not edit your messages. Try to write without mistakes from the start.
8. Eliminated players and those not participating in the game are prohibited from writing in the game thread, discussing the game with participants, or posting information about their own/others' roles anywhere. In case of a violation, I will contact the section moderators to request penalty points, because there is no reason to show off.
9. It is forbidden to reveal your / someone else's role, or its elements, as well as information obtained through them, in public places or among players who are not in your group. The same applies to information about other players. Phrases like "well, and I know something else about him that I can't say" are a violation, regardless of whether you actually know something or are lying. Statements such as: "I checked," "according to my information, which I cannot disclose," "I know for sure" - etc., are prohibited. Unargumented shouts of "he's MAFIA!" or "I'm Town!" are allowed; however, one must not hint at the details of their role in any form.
To avoid violating this rule, try to frame your thoughts as assumptions or as your own opinion based, for example, on clues or behavior. It is permitted to refer to the rules, the Mage Guild, your own posts, or posts of other players, as well as any external sources where you dug up some info from clues.
10. Modkill (in rare cases - replacement) is performed:
- In case of a gross violation of the rules or a repeated minor violation.
- If for two consecutive days, nights, or a day and night, a player shows no activity without warning the Mage Guild about possible offline status.
- May be performed at the player's request in the event of circumstances that prevent the player from taking active part in the game.
11. First-night immunity (impossibility of killing a person possessing it on the first night of the game) is given to the following participants:
- those killed on the first night in the previous game;
- the leader of the previous game;
- newcomers (players playing "Mafia" on our forum for the first time);
- players who missed three or more previous games.
12. There are no notes.
13. Have fun.
Roles
Abyss
1. Norman

Literally the eternal lord of the Abyss, until he is whacked. Feeling danger in the form of the Haven with his royal backside, Norman ordered a commoner, Vic Zoom, to be brought from another world into the Abyss so that he could suppress enemies with his metallicity and coolness.
ND:
Insight – compares player statuses (cannot compare with self)
Features:
Head of the Abyss - has a double vote, cannot be executed
Cannot be recruited; upon recruitment attempt, deprives the recruiter of their vote (the recruiter will not know this; after Norman's death, the vote returns)
Status: darkness, rock
2. Vic Zoom

Living in another world, Vic should have become the most successful solo guitarist in the world—at least he thinks so—but because of all this incomprehensible Abyss nonsense he was dragged into, the guy lost his chance to realize himself in his own world. Now Vic fiercely hates Haven and dreams of crushing everyone into a salad with his guitar, which can turn into a club; but unfortunately, Norman ordered the poor soul to quietly and peacefully guard people without disturbing their sleep with tedious solo parts. However, he did not forbid killing those who try to kill his charges.
ND:
Mind-blowing Solo – protects a player, kills the attacker (cannot be directed at self)
Features:
Bone Armor – 50% protection from attacks (does not kill the attacker)
Love for Ages – if Moena is attacked, he protects her at the cost of his own life (without losing the Bone Armor feature)
Cannot be recruited; after recruitment, cannot protect the recruiter
Status: darkness, rock
3. Moena

A sweet-looking creature on the outside, but a cruel bloodthirsty woman inside, Moena, Norman's niece, forced Vic to come to this world and made him fall in love with her. Now this cunning creature wants the blood of all Haven members so they don't interfere with her living peacefully, and also just to try out her new violin, which can turn into a sword
ND:
Violin of Death – kill
Features:
Thirst for Revenge – if Vic is killed and his protection doesn't work, she learns the killer's nick (in this case, Moena's murder will be first on the next turn)
Cannot be recruited; if Rosen recruits her, she kills him.
Status: darkness, pop
4. Miconte

Miconte manages to combine being Norman's nephew and heir, Moena's brother, a magnificent composer, as well as an avowed womanizer. He loves to make noise, annoy people, and force them to listen to his music; in his time, he spread a rumor that he could play the piano with closed eyes and tied hands, but now he makes excuses that he is not a magician and it was someone's prank.
ND:
Virtuoso Play – block player
Features:
Duty – after Norman's death, receives a 2nd vote.
Charm – 50% chance that the murder of Nicolas will fail; otherwise, a clue remains
Cannot be recruited
Status: light, rock
5. Clarissa

Shy but cheerful Clarissa is ready to help everyone, whether they are a rocker or a pop lover, evil or good. However, these people are not always happy with her help, as her flute playing leaves much to be desired, and she is nothing without it.
ND:
Magic Flute – healing play
Cannot be recruited
Status: light, rock
6. Kippley

A fierce temperament and a magnificent ear—these are Kippley's main qualities. Unfortunately, old age no longer brings him joy, so, creaking his bones, he prefers to simply listen and give advice to the young, whether they want it or not.
ND:
Divine Ear - learns the musical status of a player
Cannot be recruited
Status: darkness, rock
7. Gerald

Another abnormal resident of the Abyss. Due to excessive self-doubt, he cannot choose whom he will serve, so he decided that he would walk around and question people about their predispositions until he chooses or until he gets bored and decides to go home.
ND:
Brief Survey - learns a player's predisposition
Can be recruited; upon recruitment, additionally receives the kill ND
Status: light, pop
8. Torkin

The most mean and cunning deceiver, Torkin in his time attracted a lot of trouble, from which he emerged by some miracle. Now this guy prefers to wander peacefully through the Abyss, sometimes engaging in light robbery of abilities, thinking that one day he will find the most unimaginably cool ability that no one else has. Or maybe that is exactly his talent for theft?
ND:
Quick Fingers - steals a player's ND (uses action on the next night, cannot use ND on the person it was stolen from, does not learn the type of used ND; if there are 2 NDs, the choice is random)
Feature:
Can be recruited; receives nothing, loses the ability to steal NDs from mafia
Status: light, rock
9. Mikh

Forever stoned and dissatisfied with something, Mikh constantly travels through the Abyss, pestering its residents. He considers himself the smartest, but that is far from true. Rumors say he pursues people because he believes that one day he will find members of Haven and they will accept him; it's a pity his excessive overconfidence doesn't let him consider that they might just kill him, as in reality, nobody gives a damn about him.
ND:
Pursuit – follows a player; if the target is killed, he dies instead
Features:
Whining – if his target is attempted to be recruited, he is recruited instead
Can be recruited; upon recruitment, additionally receives the kill ND
Status: light, rock
10. Mansic

For a long time now, Mansic has been a headache for all residents of the Abyss. Certainly, it's not because of his style of music and clothing—on the contrary, that's why he hasn't been killed or kicked out yet; the whole problem is that he loves to manically pursue people, bothering everyone with panic that villains are everywhere and peaceful people should get out of the Abyss.
ND
Observation – follows a player; if they are killed, learns the killer's nick
Cannot be recruited
Status: darkness, rock
11. Potter

Makes pots, doesn't bother anyone. But if attacked, not recognized and killed—he will punish perversely and cruelly.
ND:
None
Features:
Evil Troll – deprives his killer of their ND
Kind Eyes – cannot be killed by Moena as long as he is on the town side
Can only be recruited by Rosen; upon recruitment, receives kill, loses features
Status: light, pop
Haven
1. Rosen Berg

The mad leader of Haven, who hates music and everything associated with it. Ready to tolerate pop and hype up Loran just to avoid listening to any other rubbish. He loves most of all tapping his cane on the floor, thinking that this increases his authority. There are suspicions that all problems lie in his height complex.
ND:
1) Mad Strike – kill
2) Cookie Bribe – recruit player
Features:
Bugogogagashka – when Miconte and Norman die, receives a double vote
Status: light, pop
2. Loran

Rosen's left hand and brain. Once upon a time, Loran served Norman and was the coolest composer, but when the handsome Miconte became cooler and lured away all the women, Loran started drinking and went to Rosen. In a bad mood, he starts singing songs that attract some suspicious characters who start dancing mind-blowing dances
ND:
1) Assymphony – kill
2) Persuasion – recruit player
Features:
Depression – if he kills/recruits Miconte, he realizes he is dull and pathetic, so he stops acting until one of the team members dies (if he falls into depression while being the only mafia - cuts his veins and dies; if not the last in the team - will not know about the depression and may send unsuccessful NDs)
Romantic – cannot kill Moena
Status: light, rock
3. Nicolas

A natural blonde, both outside and inside. However, this doesn't stop him from somehow skillfully killing with his hairpin without leaving traces. There are suspicions that he actually likes boys.
ND:
Seduction – kill (once every two nights)
Features:
Professionalism – 50% chance to leave no clues
Status: light, pop
4. Dimadiy

The most useless member of the Haven team, though he's probably good for something... He has long planned to assemble a concert hall consisting of rockers and blow it up. However, everyone is still wondering how exactly he intends to do this.
ND:
1) Dull Rap - kill
2) Party – with a 50% probability for each player, kills the target and all their visitors; after the party, he realizes he's a loser and dies (the original target who hosted the party dies from butt-hurt because the party was held at their house, though natural protection still has a chance to save them from unbearable butt-hurt)
Status: darkness, pop
5. Filipok

A terribly overconfident, sprightly old man who considers himself the boss of Haven because he created it together with his former mummy-wife, without thinking about the fact that Rosen Berg and Loran took everything into their own hands long ago. He hits men and women because he thinks it's cool, metallic, and brutal.
ND:
1) Fist to the Face - block
2) Kick to the Face – kill
Status: light, pop
Maniac
Cheerful Innkeeper Van

By day, Van is an ordinary innkeeper of the Abyss, ready to get anyone drunk, whoever they are, as long as they give money; by night, he becomes a terrifying demonic clown thirsting for blood. He dreams of capturing all worlds and ruling them for eternity, and he decided to start exactly with the Abyss.
ND:
1) Insane Laughter – kill
