The Problem of the Bovblob Residents
Look around. Notice anything strange? The chandelier hangs from the ceiling, the bed stands on the floor, and the text you are currently reading is printed horizontally from left to right in a language understandable to you? If so, then everything is fine; you are in our world… And have you ever thought about how fish could swim through the air, and birds fly in the water? The ramblings of a madman, you'll say, and you'll be partly right… But then again, mad people are only mad to us; perhaps somewhere, for someone, they are normal, and we are the mad ones? You'll say it's impossible (and maybe some will say it is possible) and you'll be partly right. Yes, it is impossible, because in our world we are absolutely normal, mentally healthy people (I hope so). But what about a madman's world? To him, we are abnormal. Have you never wondered if the people we call psychos and who are kept in special institutions are not from our world? Never thought about it? No? Fine… Perhaps they just got lost, walked through the wrong doors, or perhaps they did it intentionally, out of curiosity. And wouldn't you like to peek into a foreign world? If you wish, please come this way…
This world exists everywhere and nowhere, always and never; it is big and small, finite and infinite, understandable and incomprehensible… I have no idea how many cities are in this world or what it's even called, but one of these cities bears the proud and sonorous name – Bovblob. It exists everywhere and nowhere, always and never, it is big… actually no, it's not big…
The residents of this city live their own lives; among them are many strange and mysterious creatures, since people from different worlds end up here, so ordinary people can also be found. Well anyway, let's get to the point, namely the event that shook Bovblob. Everything was quiet and peaceful, nothing foretold trouble, but
Game Rules
1. Nights last about 24 hours. The sooner all night actions reach the Mage Guild, the faster dawn will come. At night, no one has the right to write anything in the game thread, at all, even "deleted posts".2. Day lasts exactly 24 hours. In extremely rare cases, an earlier or later end of the day is possible.
3. To vote for someone's execution, you must write in your message: "**execute %username%**". (The method of execution can be invented by yourself - within reasonable limits) - bold font is mandatory. If a player wants to change their vote, they must perform the same procedure to cancel the vote ("**Do not execute %username%**"), and only after cancellation vote for another player (in one message you can vote once and cancel a vote once, or cancel a vote once and vote once). This is for the Mage Guild - so it's easier to track votes. If you do not vote in bold font, the vote will not be counted. Also, a vote will not be counted without minimal justification.
4. Execution requires only a majority of votes. If a player reaches the required number of votes, they will be hanged only after the end of the day and only if the votes do not change.
5. If the majority vote "**do not execute anyone**", then the day ends without any players being executed.
6. All "double votes" are displayed only in the voting results and only if they belong to the majority.
7. The Mafia's decisions on who to kill and who to send on a mission are made collectively. If one of the mafia members is not online, the other participants can make a decision without them.
8. The killer can plant one additional clue at the crime scene. It must point to them and be original (i.e., no need to leave clues of the "for the super-observant" variety). As for the complexity of these clues, there is quite a lot of freedom here, but the Mage Guild still reserves the right not to accept a specific clue, with or without explanation.
9. Hints about killers in reports are given based on the user's profile (nick, avatar, signature, etc.). If the murder was unsuccessful, the killer will find out, but will not know why it was unsuccessful. No hints are given for failed murders, except those declared by the killer themselves. Also, there is a hint about the role of the deceased in the reports.
10. During the game, changing your nick, avatar, signature, and personal information is strictly forbidden. Therefore, update your profile in advance.
11. Discussing the game outside this thread (i.e., in PMs, ICQ, etc.) is allowed only if you have a role that permits it.
12. As soon as the news of your death/execution has been written, you are gone. But you still participate in the game:
Changing your profile is forbidden; also consider this fact: dead players usually have a habit of asking the living for their roles; accordingly, if the dead have the opportunity to continue the game, they lose that ability.
13. Do not edit your messages. Try to write without mistakes from the start.
14. Modkill (in rare cases - replacement) is performed:
- in case of a gross violation of the rules or repeated minor violations;
- if during the game day a player does not post, and has not notified the Mage Guild that they will respond in the thread on the next game day;
- may be performed at the player's request due to any circumstances under which the player cannot take an active part in the game.
15. If you have the right to perform a night action – do it before the end of the night phase and the start of the day phase.
16. It is forbidden to reveal your own/someone else's role, or its elements, as well as information obtained through them, in public places or among players who are not in the same group as you. The same applies to information about other players. Phrases like "well, and I also know something about him that I can't say" - a violation, regardless of whether you actually know something or are lying.
Statements such as: "I checked", "according to my information, which I cannot disclose", "I know for sure" - etc. are forbidden. Unargued shouts of "he is MAFIA!", "I am Town!" and so on are allowed.
To avoid violating this rule, try to phrase your thoughts as assumptions or as IMHO, based, for example, on hints or behavior.
It is permitted to reference: the rules, the Mage Guild, your own posts, or other players' posts, as well as any external sources where you dug up some information from hints.
17. First-night immunity (impossibility of killing a person possessing it on the first night of the game) is given to the following participants:
- those killed on the first night in the previous game;
- the moderator of the previous game;
- newcomers (players playing "Mafia" on our forum for the first time);
- players who missed three or more previous games.
18. Advertisements can be submitted to the newspaper (mention the text of the ad in the night action). Ads can be submitted in any volume, and may contain any information, including false or out-of-game info. Any signature (whichever you specify). Limit - no limit.
19. Those not participating in Mafia are forbidden from commenting on events until the end of the game.
20. An eliminated player whose role is hidden remains silent about the game until the end. They have no right to write on the forum or to anyone in PMs about their role. Also, remaining participants have no right to write to them about what role they possess. All discussions of roles are possible only between eliminated participants.
21. And most importantly… this is a game. The main thing is that you have fun.
PS: Night actions (NA) should preferably be sent via PM. If questions arise requiring discussion in ICQ(593797964)
