Sacred Haven of Debauchery Auto-translated

Ubisoft plans to introduce a new system for verifying the legality of installed game copies in its future games to combat piracy: instead of a disc in the drive, a constant internet connection will be required. As a bonus, it will be possible to install the game on an unlimited number of computers (under one account), and saved games will be stored on the Ubisoft server, so you can always continue the game from any computer (connected to the internet, of course). The drawbacks are obvious: even in "single-player" mode, it will not be possible to play if the computer is not connected to the internet, and if the connection is interrupted, the game will "freeze." A group has already been organized on Facebook, threatening to stop buying Ubisoft games if this innovation is implemented.

P.S. This also concerns us, since Ubisoft will be the publisher of Heroes VI.

Looks like I won't be able to play Heroes VI, because my mean dad will cut off the internet again >< Perverts...

I don't think this concerns anyone except those who buy licenses. A crack will be made sooner or later. Well, but if we assume that it won't be made... then a truly terrible time will begin.

no one will buy it.

They’ll only make things worse for themselves.

And besides, the connection in Russia is often unstable... It just froze.

No, they really came up with a clever idea! :(
Considering the speed of my internet connection, which is shared among 3 computers, I'll be able to play for about 6 hours.

I would still buy the game as a licensed copy. Although, based on my experience with the fifth installment, I might wait for the release of one or two patches. Or maybe not.

Well, what did you expect? Capitalists only think about how to profit more from us. Although, I'm not sure that even if piracy is eradicated by such methods, the profits will be higher – some have limits, some have other issues, someone will rebel (we, for example, might) and they won't get any profit:smile14:

I would buy it too :3
But the problem of connection instability (and not its speed, why would it need fast internet?) could lead to not-so-pleasant consequences.

In theory, yes. But all these tricks with protection are relevant in the first 2-3 months, at the peak of demand for the game. After that, you can release patches that will remove all these contortions with the disc in the drive, mandatory online connection, and other things. Sometimes they do it that way. Also, I think the game won't freeze; it will pause until the next connection, and it won't pause instantly, but after a couple of minutes (in case the connection is restored?). In any case, that would be more user-friendly.

It’s too early to talk about buying the game – the sixth installment hasn’t even been announced yet... Ubisoft knows when all this will happen and whether it will happen at all.

I’m sure that the game’s quality will be the deciding factor when it comes to buying it. If the game suits personal preferences, and if friends and acquaintances strongly recommend it, then this registration method won’t be a big problem.

Even for such a system, a crack will be found, 100%. Pirates have existed, do exist, and will continue to exist.

Moscow is completely covered in snow; it hasn't been this bad in half a century.

Ubisoft and other companies release good games :)

This is called generating profit from a product.

Although I'm not sure that even if piracy is eradicated using this method, the profit will be greater - some people have limits, others have something else, and someone will rebel (we, for example, might) and they won't get any profit.

There are no problems with this in the West.

In general, I suspect that it will be as bad as the fifth installment.

Oh, I won't answer that – it's pointless. :p I actually wrote it more as a joke. Like, a miser. :)
