Well, if my wife wanted to, then of course... we live in a free country... I won't even mention how he'll improve the gene pool of my family.

When your wife is also your sister, then "your" child will still be at least a nephew – checkmate.

Hmm, not a bad life hack! But you need to have a sister. Not everyone is that lucky.

The Peculiarities of National Fishing

The film is a delightful trash movie in the best sense of the word; it evokes a similar feeling to watching "The Hero's Tick."
The downside is that there's too much humor related to alcohol by today's standards. But for the 90s, that was probably normal?
But everything else was more than enjoyable. There's also a bit of personal nostalgia here, connected to those places (especially Finland), but regardless. The General was particularly enjoyable; he's definitely a character from "The Hero's Tick."

Owl House (2020, Disney)

I started watching it, and the beginning seemed pretty good in terms of lore, but the first two episodes ended somewhat boringly: some rather childish action with violence. So, I decided to put it on hold for now; maybe I'll continue it later. Or maybe not.

Hilda ("Hilda," 2018)

This is simply captivating. It's also aimed at children, like the previous one, but without jarring scenes and settings, without incomprehensible over-the-top violence. On the contrary, the series is distinctly kind, measured, and consistent. The story revolves around various Scandinavian myths and settings, which I love. The first two episodes are simply amazing, with hints of Jonathan Swift, but even later, the quality remains high, and it's all incredibly charming. I recommend it if you enjoy such inspiring things.

I also liked Hilda. I don't plan on having children, but if I did, this would be a cartoon I could show them without any worries.

The Half of It
A comedic (and somewhat melodramatic) new release from Netflix.
Lately, I've noticed that they're cramming a lot of same-sex relationships into works, and it all looks extremely inappropriate and often propagandistic. Against this backdrop, the joke "A boy falls in love with a girl, asks another girl for help, and she also falls in love with the girl" looks completely different, in a much more positive way. Ultimately, an attempt to take the love triangle to a new level.
A film with no negative characters. Sometimes a little strange (the strangest scene was probably in the church, when the director clearly intended to throw some serious philosophical ideas at the audience, but it turned out to be some kind of pseudo-serious nonsense in that form), but still funny. And the ending, I would say, is positive; you want to believe that everything will be alright for the characters.
that Ellie and Paul will finally leave poor Aster alone, whom they both perceive as a doll to be adored, no matter what they say, and maybe they will find each other, because there is complete understanding between them. And Aster will become more serious and find the strength to influence her own life more.
The Score (Germany, Canada, USA)
A good film about a thief (Robert De Niro). Nothing special, just a little bit of nerve-wracking action with a shotgun, but the acting and the classic plot are quite enjoyable.

Actually, lately I've noticed that they're cramming a lot of same-sex relationships into works, and it all looks extremely inappropriate and often propagandistic.

Disgusting life-ruiners in almost every other movie are pushing their relationships on me. And it doesn't matter what they are, same-sex or not.

Richard Jewell

Very weak. Just very weak. After films like Gran Torino and Million Dollar Baby, it's frankly bad. I expected more. I thought the guy would at least spend some time in jail, lose his job for a long time, and so on, but no. I wasn't interested in the topic, but I think you could find stories where people got severely punished for crimes they didn't commit.

Those disgusting life-sim players are constantly pushing their relationship-focused games in every other movie.

Who?

Who?

Who are you talking about?

Who is promoting this? I don't like propaganda and propagandists.

The creators of these films.

Batman & Robin (1997)
I remember when I first watched it on TV when I was 7-8 years old, I thought the movie was very cool and interesting, just like Chris O'Donnell did at the same age (although he still thinks it's a great movie). All those jokes, the super-freezing weapon, the poisonous kisses – just wow, awesome! I loved this movie and whenever it was on TV, I would definitely rewatch it. However, at the age of 12, I had to abandon this tradition because the movie started to seem pathetic, drawn-out, and uninteresting. And now, I rewatched it at 27, and I saw it in a completely new light.
The movie isn't just bad – it's very bad. It's hard to believe that its budget was $125 million in 1997. Perhaps $124 million and 900 thousand went to the actors' fees because the stunts, editing, and everything else were simply done terribly. For example, there's a scene where Batman jumps on Mr. Freeze, and a fight should start, but the next shot shows Mr. Freeze already lying on the ground, defeated, and Batman standing triumphantly next to him – and they didn't even try to create the illusion of a normal transition. I won't say anything about the plot as a whole because it's obvious. The acting is also terrible, considering that there are some quite good actors among them; I assume it's a case of bad acting and bad directing. So, what new thing did I see? Until now, I've been listing well-known facts; everyone already knows that the movie is terrible. But here's something: if someone has watched the movie or the Nostalgia Critic's review, they probably remember the scene with the Bat-credit card, which also appears with an interesting sound. I'll add something to that – in some moments, when the enemies fall or slip, this sound plays (look for the word "улетучился" on the page and play it; that's the sound). I swear, that's exactly what happened, at least twice; I'm not lying. The sound itself might be slightly different, but it's very similar in essence. Then, I analyzed the situation from another angle – Schumacher, the director of this film, also made 8mm (about what the rich do for entertainment with ordinary people, very seriously), Flatliners (a film about sin and forgiveness), and Falling Down (a film about an ordinary man who is tired of society in all its beautiful complexity). And finally, I came to this conclusion.
Schumacher wanted to make serious films about serious problems. He was first offered to make Batman Forever, which is also objectively bad but was commercially successful. And then, Schumacher decided to show everyone that superheroes are crap for kids and made a film as badly and pathetically as possible, inserting cartoon sound effects to show everyone how unserious it is to admire people in costumes if you're older than 8. And I must say that he succeeded – the superhero film genre almost died after him for about 10 years, and the Avengers appeared even later. At the same time, the funniest thing is that the Avengers and other Marvel films are made according to the same scheme, namely – jokes, costumes, pathetic action, just done more smoothly and with better quality. I believe that now, in 2020, we can finally appreciate the enormous amount of post-irony that Schumacher put into his film and recognize that he did everything right and set back superhero films by decades with his film-parody.

When you're a misophobe, any kiss feels poisonous to you.

What about the opinion that the coolest works of art are those that are good for children? And if you write (it was about writers) for adults, then you're just mediocre?
