I recommend this band!

the band is new and has only one album. they play heavy metal. the lineup includes legends of black metal (but they play heavy metal!!!)

"Sweet-voiced" Abbath couldn't stay idle for even a minute after the breakup of his legendary band - Immortal. His love for heavy music (and especially its classics!) pushed him to a new adventure. Abbath assembled a capable lineup from old comrades, known from the bands Enslaved, Sahg, and, in fact, from Immortal (drummer Armagedda played there back in the days of the album 'Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism'). Love for the work of Bathory yielded abundant results - and now 10 songs are ready! The lyrics were written by Abbath's old friend and comrade, former Immortal guitarist, Demonaz, who, for this occasion, abandoned his usual vague style of writing in favor of a simple and clear style reminiscent of early Quorthon. "Warriors", "Mountains", "Battalions" - what could be clearer? Real old-school metal, performed and recorded to the level of current standards - this always pleases! Peter Tagtgren (Hypocrisy, Pain) mixed the material in his Abyss studio. (c) dark-world.ru

The new project of Immortal frontman - Olve «Abbath» Eikemo, called I. The lineup of I also includes: Immortal's first drummer - Armagedda, guitarist Arve «Ice Dale» Isdal from Enslaved, and bassist T.C. «King Ov Hell» King from Gorgoroth.
The band's debut album, Between Two Worlds, was released on the Nuclear Blast Records label on November 3, 2006. The lyrics were written by former Immortal guitarist - Harald «Demonaz» Naevdal.

I like it. It's not pure heavy metal, but heavy metal mixed with black and thrash. What did you like so much about this band? It's high-quality, I won't argue, but still...?

just a good side project consisting of black metal legends... + it's awesome :D
well, I don't know, I just liked it.

Regarding the genre, I liked one of the tags this band uses on Last.fm, namely, blackened heavy metal. Of course, it's hard to understand what the band plays based on that name, but nevertheless, it's appropriate. :) Now, after listening to the album several times, I can say that I liked all the songs consistently, but I would highlight The Storm I Ride (the fastest track among the others, probably that's why it's one of the most memorable), Warriors, and Shadowed Realms.

But personally, I liked all the songs equally - it's very difficult for me to single out any particular song...
