So, I created this thread to find out what your impressions are of this rather old, but interesting and exciting game. What do you think about the first and second Diablo games, and are you looking forward to the third installment?

What is currently known about the third one?

I heard that there won't be a third installment at all, and at the same time, I heard that there will be one, but not soon. There are different rumors going around, and it's strange that they're all in gaming magazines. Diablo 2 is certainly good, but playing the same thing three times just to level up a character is somehow uninteresting. They should have done it like in Allods 2, where you level up on specific maps; that would be great.

Hey guys, Diablo III is still in development, and they say that the third part of the game could have been released as early as 2006, but the game wasn't that interesting, and Blizzard fired half of the developers. They had to start all over again and do it quickly. There's even someone who said that in 2005, they were recording music for Diablo 3. By the way, Blizzard kept information about three games they were developing secret, as they announced in 2007. One project was called Hydra, but they didn't explain what that project was about, so everyone thinks it's Diablo 3. Yes, it's an impressive trailer, I must say. It just looks too much like Lineage 2... And in some places, like TES IV, probably in the dialogues. However, it looks impressive, and I already want to play it.

I'm currently searching for a demo of the third installment, browsing all the websites in the United States, but haven't found it yet.

It was fun to play, but I prefer Sacred and am eagerly awaiting the second part.

Diablo is an amazing game! I used to play it for hours when I was in school. Both the first and second parts. And the third part is coming out. StarCraft 2 is coming out, and Diablo 3 is coming out too. As for Blizzard's project, Hydra, I heard that it was intended to be StarCraft 2...

Well, I'm a big Diablo fan, I have my own records. In the first game, I played a mage (not just any mage, but a battle mage, third difficulty, level 16, I cleared areas with a golem, petrification, and a cool Royal Scepter of Pain), reaching level 47 (I couldn't level up to 50, it took too long to gain experience). In the second Diablo, I played a Paladin, a "wild cat killer," and reached level 96.
As for Allods, it's also a great game, and I had a very well-developed mage, but it was a long time ago, and I don't remember the details.
Sacred is also an excellent game, and I played a dark elf who crushed everyone left and right.
In general, I love RPGs.

I used to play Diablo 2 as well. But I never made it to level 99. I found some cool items, even managed to assemble Enigma and Infinity :-)

Well, when a ton of mods come out for Diablo 2, you don't really feel like going back to the original, where the game is undoubtedly more challenging, because there, loot rains down from every monster, and you can collect any set just by clearing the first area. But why Immortal King in the first town?:D

Hmm... based on the video, it looks like there will be character selection. I spotted a paladin, a barbarian, an archer... I think there was also a mage and an assassin, but I'm not sure... it's hard to see.

I played both the first and second games. It was one of the first RPGs I played (the second was Fallout 2). Maybe there was something else... I don't remember anymore.

In the first game, I played as a warrior... then I also played as a diakon (with a spear), but I couldn't defeat Diablo with him... it was too difficult. Heh... I almost finished it twice, even though I played it much more. I got bored, deleted it, etc.

I played the second game many times... as a necromancer, a druid, and a barbarian (a little), but I finished it as a paladin (it was the first time I played, and I didn't level up well, but I finished it). My favorite characters: definitely the paladin and the druid.
P.S. I didn't finish it on the second difficulty level... I got to the third city and got bored.

P.P.S. I also played Sacred many times... I started as a warrior, but I never finished it... I don't know why. I got bored... maybe because I like RPGs where you have to think (BG, NWN, Arcanum, etc.), in general, where there are a lot of dialogues... and not just walking around and killing. Diablo doesn't fall into this category, because I played it much earlier than Sacred, and back then I liked all RPGs, both those that required thinking and those that didn't. In principle, Diablo and Sacred are similar RPGs... and they are far from the best, although they are not bad either.
