Nah, Amon Amarth is death melodic viking, and that's quite different from death metal. Although, the band is awesome.
Step aside from the way of a better man than you
So you fall at his feet hes the one who betrays you
Its the servants devotion for the decay

Yeah, yeah! Trivium is definitely a must-listen. I really liked Ashendacy and their covers of Iron Maiden and Master of Puppets. The song The Crusade is also great.

For those who enjoy bands with female vocals, I can recommend the band **Within Temptation**, which plays in the genres of *gothic metal* (formerly) and *symphonic metal*. They made the best impression on me personally.

Does anyone have the melody from Shrek 2 Hero (the one that played at the end)? I really need it!

Not exactly the same, but I listen to bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engage, Unearth, and Atreyu – they play melodic metalcore. It's quite enjoyable, and I'm almost a Bullet for My Valentine fan. I'm also looking for more music like that, so if you find anything, please let me know!
Of the bands I listed, Avenged Sevenfold is the most melodic. Killswitch Engage screams the loudest. I listen to Unearth and Atreyu most often.

The sorrow is a good band, and you should definitely listen to Trivium's latest album, Shogun (2008) – it's amazing in the melodic metalcore genre.
P.S. Does anyone have any recommendations for good post-black metal if anyone listens to that?

Try Still Remains.
Thanks! There is indeed a similarity, and they play well.

Could you please recommend some good acoustic rock?
O God of Earth and Altar,
Bow down and hear our cry,
Our earthly rulers falter,
Our people drift and die,
The walls of gold entomb us,
The swords of scorn divide,
Take not thy thunder from us,
Take away our pride.
G.K. Chesterton: English Hymnal
