Roderick is more of a Terminator than many Silverdane knights + he grants Guildaria units the Silverdane regional bonus by his presence. Guildaria has over three times more gold. Guildaria has nearly twice as many provinces. Guildaria has special locations with defensive bonuses. Guildaria has the ability to hire expendable commanders. That's hardly a position to complain from.
