Which level 7 creature is the strongest? In my opinion, it's definitely the lava dragon. If you compare it to other factions, it has 40 defense, which is 9 more than its closest competitor, the archangel. It also has 280 health, which is 40 more than its closest competitor, the black dragon, and it has a lava shield that reflects 40% of the damage taken in melee combat. Of course, there are also drawbacks, such as low speed, initiative, and damage, but the main strength of the lava dragon lies in the combination of its two properties: a huge amount of health and the lava shield. For example, to kill it in melee combat, you would have to take 112 units of damage, and that's if it doesn't attack back at all. The only ones who can compete with it are the black dragon and the titan, because the lava shield doesn't affect the former, and the latter has ranged attacks and lightning strike, but even they will be defeated by the lava dragon.

I think Crystal Dragons are a good choice, considering they have decent damage, good attack, a sufficient amount of HP, and very high Initiative (when compared to other Tier 7 creatures).

Yes, I've always thought the same. Crystal Dragons will lose in a 1-on-1 fight against many units, but it's the best unit from a tactical point of view, and it fits perfectly into the faction. Besides initiative, speed, flight, and decent damage, the most interesting thing is this unit's ability to reach valuable enemy ranged stacks even if they are well-protected by tanks (even if the tanks aren't directly adjacent to the ranged units, the Crystal Dragon can strike with electricity from up to three tiles away).

The Arcanite dragon is stronger, but the price is a bit high, and usually, the first ones are enough. For a normal hero, both will be worse than Seraphs; they will win in most cases without any losses.

I think they mean the Arcat dragons, which breathe liquid fire. But it seems like there are some mods involved, as Khottabych said, or else these dragons are just over-buffed.
In the original game, I always preferred the lava dragons, although I don't remember why anymore. Probably because liquid fire is tactically difficult to use; it often hinders your own units' movement.
