You've raised a very relevant issue. About militarization, the arms race, and the generally tense situation in the region.

(here and further, I am not speaking on behalf of my country, but simply as a player)

A few pages ago, Arandor described his nation as quite well-armed, and Revan disagreed. Strangely enough, both were right. If you look at it this way, the numbers are quite impressive. But everything is relative. The fact is that we have created a hyper-militarized region. A couple of countries are slightly below the average level, the rest are above, and some are even two or three times higher.
Personally, I would rate the current values as follows:
about 20 - weak countries
about 30 - average countries
about 40 - well-armed countries
50 and more - world leaders in arms

The states are quite diverse, and there are disagreements in almost every area. Obviously, wars are inevitable. Ventorium is pursuing its goals by any means. Arkondia is pursuing a very short-sighted policy, imposing sanctions on one hyper-militarized country in order to force it to reduce its defense spending, and thereby supporting another country with almost the same military power. In Kittypink, there are two-meter-tall super-soldiers and the execution of deserters.
Despite the fact that numbers are one thing, and the human factor is something else entirely, I doubt that a country with an army strength of 25 would win a war against a rival that is twice as strong.

What to do?
1) Organize some kind of alliances, sign treaties.
2) Develop your own army :smile04:
3) Move towards a bi-polar world. Come up with treaties to limit arms. Although they are unlikely to be enforced.

I personally am unlikely to have a good army, because ecology and education are a priority, and the army is only third. Therefore, the best option for me would be to join one of the sides. Well, if there are some "superpowers" and their smaller allies. :cool:

(and I'm still leaning towards an alliance with Haven), but that's only if it actually happens. For now, Revan has promised a month of peaceful life.
