1) What is the maximum skill level in chemistry?

Level 10 to become a grandmaster, 20 is the maximum. Each level adds +5% to the potion's power.

2) As I understand it, the bank in Archilde is scripted in such a way that if you deposit a million, the bank becomes bankrupt after a day or two and stops accepting further deposits. Is that correct?

It goes bankrupt if a million accumulates in the account, so if you deposit 800k, you'll need to withdraw the interest every few days. This surprise was introduced when I noticed that some players tend to hoard.
