) I plan to launch a spring tournament on March 1st. I want to discuss the tournament format with the active members. The Swiss system didn't work out, and a round-robin format won't be feasible with a large number of participants, given the 3-month tournament duration.

In my opinion, the Swiss system was exactly what was needed. There's enough time to allow players to catch up and wait for those who are behind, and the intrigue remains until the very end of the tournament. I personally enjoyed playing, except for the game against GL (which I started in a bad mood), who disappeared, and as it turned out today (when a bunch of messages for the last week arrived), his ICQ was malfunctioning.
