There's nothing wrong with length if it's interesting. People generally don't like listening to long, monotonous songs (meaning they could be shortened by a factor of three without losing quality), or they simply don't like them.
And yes, I personally lean more towards short films (10 minutes maximum). This genre can be interesting in its own way.
