Bought for 2400 Ramp vs Barbarians.
Opponent retaliated everything, I had one last rest left; on the first day I managed to buy 6 heroes thanks to the external market (the tavern showed this was more than the opponent had), scout 1 Griffin Conservatory and 1 Dragon Fly Hive - got the game rolling. On the second day, I revealed almost the entire respawn from overview - 2 Dragon Fly Hives (6+6), 1 Griffin Conservatory (1), 2 external dwellings of horses with unpleasant guards. GO - Greater Manticores, 2000 moves from the main. One of the towns was native, I started building it up. The respawn was full of crypts and Dwarf Cottages, which helped greatly to set up Homs in the Citadel and in the secondary Fort. Kyrre turned out to be water-bound, I started leveling Pirre and Gretchen in parallel; both got Earth, and the choice fell on Gretchen. By week 1 day 7, I captured both external dwellings of horses, cleared 3 boxes - 10k experience, 25 Grands, 25 Pegasi. Gretchen gets Armor, Logistics, and the much-needed Tactics to break through the GO, since Slow was not granted.
On week 2 day 2, I broke through the GO with native troops using Gretchen [10 6 3 (10)] (21 horses, ~55 Grands, native meatshields), losing all wood elves, dwarves, and 3 horses. Immediately scouted Wings and Helm near the exit, sent out reconnaissance. I cleared Wings, losing all Pegasi in the process; I was afraid to attack the Helm's guards without a meat shield. Then I went on to capture the central Castle, drove out the opponent's heroes, and essentially spent the entire second week cleaning the center (massive Dragon Fly Hives, KZ, meat boxes), while the opponent did not show up.
On week 2 day 7, the opponent appears - I sit down to guard the central Castle. On week 3 day 1, the opponent slips past, takes a Dragon Utopia I hadn't seen, and jumps into the Helm's reachable zone (which I still hadn't claimed). I realized I absolutely couldn't give up the Helm, had to attack urgently, and managed to reach him.
Combat stats were about 15 higher, more mana, 13 less spell power. Army: 15 horses, 65 dragons, 1 angel, 7 Behemoths, 12 Cyclopes, 55 Grands; Crag Hack had 16 gray dwarves with singles. I was fully confident the opponent was preparing Implosion/Armageddon and retreat, so I set up on Tactics to charge in on the first turn, but discovered Blind. Due to poor positioning, I traded badly, but I got lucky that the opponent equipped the Bracelets. Thus, I won.
Thanks for the game!
