I noticed that the payback period for the Capitol is 6+ days (due to resources), which is higher than in previous installments. This indicates that the balance was adjusted for longer durations.

Conversely, I really liked the ability to spend wood or stone when building money-generating structures. Usually, there is some reserve of these resources, while much less gold is spent, and the payback periods are reduced. It's no joke that the Capitol used to cost 10k. In the seventh installment, I've forgotten, but it was almost twice as little.
