Resurrecting 50% of fallen units after a won battle means that, in effect, the skill halves the losses from defeating neutral creatures and allows you to enter the "final battle" with a larger army (which also aligns with the racial trait), and this already has a significant impact on the ability to win the final battle.
As an alternative to the guardian angel, I suggested a mentor (with an increased percentage and transfer to the Stronghold), which is also a logical option, although somewhat specific (it doesn't enhance the hero himself).
Stronghold automatons are an inappropriate option; firstly, it's unclear what kind of Stronghold unit it is and how it can be technically implemented; secondly, there's a specialist in automatons – Vitka (roughly speaking, the ballista shoots twice as hard). This would mean Vitka + Stronghold unit = overpowered? In my opinion, this is a bad approach.
