Well, not really, more like that fat "hedonist." Anyway, the fact that a slave can be treated like an animal (not from a moral, but from a formal point of view, it is possible) doesn't mean that a slave is an animal. You can just as easily use a laptop to hammer nails into a wall, but a laptop is still not a hammer.
