Yes, I personally find it more interesting to convey a dream, taking into account all the strangeness, unusualness, and paradoxical nature that it contains. If I accidentally fabricate something, the reader will reasonably ask, "Or did I just make up 90% of the interesting parts, and the dream was simply about me eating oatmeal in the kitchen?" So, no, stories with dream elements interspersed are not for me, sorry. I can demonstrate my imagination in a more alert state in other ways.
