It's hard to convey much clear information in verse. I think I'll just adjust it so that after the last creature, it leads to the exit regardless of the answer choice.

In fact, of the main tasks, only "the final chord" remains – to become a hero.

"Become a hero" is a pseudo-task; it will be completed and the map will end after completing the four hero options, corresponding to the number of heroes who were before you. Perhaps the mage option is still pending at some stage?
