What? Nival itself refused to make Heroes 6 because it's much more interesting to work on their own project.

But didn't they leave the project because of disagreements with Ubisoft?

The relationship between Nival and Ubisoft is indirectly revealed in this excerpt, written by one of Nival's employees (as I understand) back in 2006. ;)
