Upgrade or alternative upgrade?

I only use Warriors as a defensive unit, for example: when defending a castle, but I use Royal units for attacking. If, for example, you place Warriors at the gates of your castle and frequently resurrect them, your castle will be difficult to capture (although it all depends on the army and spells).
