I used to kill Crystal Archers with my units when things were tough, and since they are Tier 3 creatures, you can save about 20 of them and use 3 "low-tier" units. Even if you don't kill them all, you can leave fewer. Kostya just shared an observation, but you're rejecting and criticizing it for some reason.
p.s. If you use your imagination, you can take Tacticians or a couple of larger units to draw aggro and not block the archers.

There used to be cool GIFs where a ghost (or troll) hits a ghost (or troll) endlessly. A battle between a Mighty Gorgon and a Sea Wolf (or better, 3-4) is a real mess.
