I'll slightly digress; I have an idea to try playing this campaign, and all the others, next time, by changing the upgrade strategy from the recommended one for each race to a non-standard one. That is, to abandon the skills of Sword and Magic: attack, defense, chaos, light, darkness, and summoning. And instead, use skills like: leadership, luck, mechanics, education, logistics, wizardry. I wonder if it's even possible to complete it... at least on Veteran difficulty.
As I already said, we even completed the Cultist campaign with a hero without magic, so it's all possible. It doesn't really matter how you upgrade Isabel. Godric is powerful in himself and doesn't require specific upgrades. Agrail will have difficulties in conquering without mechanics, and without magic on the islands; the other skills don't play such an important role. Markel, Railagh, and Zephyr are magical heroes, and hardcore players complete the game without magic for them. And Fedya is the most versatile hero because he is a good warrior, and all warrior perks suit him well, and any magic is also convenient for him; you can do a lot even with summoning and phantoms.
